Frankenstein’s face flushes against his will. His Master had read him so easily, without even touching his mind. “Y-Y-Yes.”
“I can’t. My burden ends with me. I won’t subject another to my fate.”
Of course. Master is far too kind and noble for such a thing. But then...
Frankenstein takes a breath. “Master, please marry Lascrea then.”

After the wedding reception concluded, there was still one more thing to take care of — the matter of the wedding gifts. The pile of gifts was waiting neatly on the bedroom floor, a colorful assortment of boxes, bags and cards. However, the trouble began with Tao’s gift, which Frankenstein had left for last because he had a bad feeling about this. Indeed, for their wedding, Tao had given the two of them…
“This is completely inappropriate,” muttered Frankenstein, who had flushed bright pink despite himself. Raizel simply looked at the contents of the box with mild curiosity. Frankenstein had half a mind to just close the box and pretend he never saw anything, but Raizel was curious, and now Frankenstein had to explain… this… to his Master.
“What is this?” asked Raizel mildly as he gently lifted one of the many items out of the box. Frankenstein nearly passed out as he saw what Raizel was holding between his slender fingers...

Inside the black jewelry box was a stunningly made silver ring, exquisitely wrought, inlaid with a sparkling violet gem in the center. Frankenstein spoke softly, gazing up at Raizel with fond adoration. “Master…”
“Oh my god, it’s happening,” whispered Tao from his vantage point in the bushes.
“Shh,” scolded Takio next to him, trying to get a better look.
“This is the ring that will seal your power,” continued Frankenstein. “It’s not as good as the earring the former Lord made for you, but it will help you to retain your power.”
“It’s… not happening?” murmured Takio.
“You two can come out now,” said Frankenstein crossly, causing Tao and Takio to fall out of the bushes in surprise.
“Ah… hahaha…” Tao laughed nervously as he brushed the leaves off of his clothes, getting to his feet. “Sorry, Boss… we were just so excited when we heard you were proposing…”
“Master and I are already married,” said Frankenstein indignantly.

At their home in Korea, Frankenstein and Raizel renew their Soul-Bonded marriage.

Yuri leaned over Frankenstein and plunged the knife into his chest again, sparking another fit of agonizing, violent coughing. Yuri gave an ordinary, polite smile, as if he were at a business dinner. “The Noblesse will come for his Bonded. And we will have what we want.”
Frankenstein managed a smirk, even though he was shaking in pain. “Master will never cede to the likes of you.”
Yuri let his knife clatter to the floor as crouched in front of Frankenstein, grabbing his suit collar and lifting him up towards him, striking his face again. “The Noblesse will surrender, for you.”
Still, Frankenstein wheezed, “I already told Master to leave— he’ll never—”
And then Yuri promptly let go of Frankenstein, causing him to collapse to the floor with a worrying thud, as both of them felt a powerful surge of aura and turned swiftly towards the source. Frankenstein’s eyes widened in horror. “N-No!”
Cadis Etrama di Raizel was standing at the entrance to the west wing, blood staining his lip, his scarlet eyes set with fury as he gazed upon Yuri.

A hostage situation leads to Raizel being taken prisoner by the Union. Frankenstein will stop at nothing to get him back.

The newest doctor at the hospital was certainly a strange man. With blond curls that fell past his shoulders and the hint of an accent that no one could place, he arrived at the hospital one day claiming to be a traveling physician and asked for a job. And it turned out he was a miracle worker. I was just an orderly, but even I was amazed by his talent. As I went outside I caught him passing by and waved him down.
“Doctor, have you heard the news?”
“What?”
“They say fighting is breaking out across the world. They’re saying it’s the war to end all wars.”
He looked rather unfazed. I took out a lighter and offered him a cigarette, but he shook his head.
“I don’t smoke,” he said, but I saw his fingers twitch with familiarity. I raised my eyebrows.
“Good Sir, the world is ending. You may as well have one.”

Startled, Frankenstein nearly dropped his gloves that he was in the middle of putting back on after his spar with Rayga. Such a personal question from the usually mild-mannered Kertia Family Leader was odd at best and suspicious at worst. “Haven’t you heard the stories?”
“Are they true?”
Rayga looked like he didn’t believe it, earning him a soft sound of derision from Frankenstein. “What? Rayga, you’ve known me for eight years. You know it’s all true, what they say about me.”
“They say you killed for this power...” said Rayga eventually. “But... I don’t really think so."

Cadis Etrama di Raizel had been called many things. Muzaka called him “Raizel.” Frankenstein called him “Master.” The previous Lord had once called him “son.”
There were other names he had: Noblesse. Brother. Traitor.
In the end, Raizel never had a say. Who was he, anyway?
But… “Rai.” He recognizes this as— a nickname. To show affection for someone, sometimes you shorten their name. “Franken.” This sweet, intimate name that only Raizel is allowed to call him by. He has known Frankenstein for centuries, but these human children have just met him, and they have already bestowed a mark of affection upon him. Their admiration and friendship is free-flowing, easily offered, a divine gift that Raizel isn’t worthy of.
“You may call me as you wish.”

Frankenstein sometimes wondered what his life would be like if he wasn’t a servant. He had lived such a long life and done so many things that he sometimes felt like he was multiple people crammed into one body, Dark Spear notwithstanding.
