Summary
Dick has worked hard to build a family in the aftermath of tragedy, but Gotham can never let him enjoy peace for long. As Dick, Tim and Barbara work to stop a trafficking ring that has established itself in Gotham. The discoveries they make threaten to destroy everything they have worked so hard to protect.

As he turns the corner he begins to hear the sounds of screaming over the roar of the flames. He doesn’t see anyone at first, but then an arm sticks out through a basement window.
“Help! Please someone help us!” A voice cries out.
Tim rushes forwards, and finds a basement window metal bars installed over, blocking the escape of those trapped inside. The arm touches the metal and a shout of pain follows.
“Batman I’ve got victims trapped in a basement!” Tim reports, as he gets closer to the building. “There appears to be-”
His words cut off into a gasp as he looks into the window, at least a dozen women and children are in the basement.

Tim had been on his way to the city for his usual vigilante photography (and resident 911 caller for the destruction Batman left in his wake), when he decided to take an impromptu pit stop by Jason’s grave. He had gone there a couple times before, the first time to check if he really was dead, and the second time to check if he hadn’t imagined it the first time.
But when he entered the graveyard and made his way to where Jason’s grave was, instead of a clean and maintained grave with lots of flowers (probably by Alfred, Tim had guessed), there was an entire boy sitting in front of his broken grave.
A boy with torn clothes, bruised face and body, panting heavily with his eyes glazed over.
A boy who looked a lot like Jason Todd.

"Oh yes, I've been in bed with him. In every imaginable position ..."
"I didn't need to know," he muttered, feeling the need for something strong to drink. Crap, he had nothing in the house, not since he had welcomed Jason and discovered that he hated just the smell of alcohol.

Bruce does not love Timothy Drake. There are times when it’s much harder to remind himself of that: that no matter how many small and large acts of kindness the 11-year-old performs for no reason other than he’s a kind young man, Bruce does not love him.
Sometimes, it’s a little easier to remember that. Such as now, as his groggy, mildly encrusted eyes crack open to the notification that Tim has input his specific security code to enter the manor through the side door, uninvited. Not that coming over uninvited is itself an offense. Bruce (and more forcefully, Alfred) had let him know he is welcome whenever he wants for whatever reason (or lack thereof entirely). However, seeing that it is 2:42 A.M. during the middle of a hailstorm on a Saturday morning, which would be annoying on any weekend anyhow but quickly escalates Tim’s behavior from quirky to irresponsible considering it is the Saturday of Tim’s placement exam into Gotham Academy, Bruce allowed himself a level of indignation.
In which Tim brings a wagon full of ingredients to Wayne Manor in the middle of the night/morning to cook breakfast and make a birthday cake for one Alfred Pennyworth

The heat wave had hit harder than even Bruce had expected.
He had made many public statements, warnings about possible power outages as well as reminding everyone not to leave any children unintended at any time, especially not in cars, but as the mercury kept stubbornly rising and showing no sign of lowering any time soon Bruce felt a nervous energy rise within him too.
While Wayne Manor had its own backup energy sources, there was only so many vulnerable people they could take into its walls. Alfred was working hard to distribute water within the Manor while Bruce was out on the streets as Bruce Wayne alongside Tim Drake distributing more water and food.
As the third day of the heat wave, one of the highest in recorded history, people were getting wary of staying put. At least the increased heat made for less criminals out there committing crime but Bruce knew that the heat could just as well cause a rise in violence.
