“Quick instructions,” Xisuma continued, ignoring their obvious displeasure. “Read one question aloud to your partner. You both answer. Swap roles for the next question. When you’re done, write down your partner’s answer and your thoughts on it.”
“Wait—you actually want me to write down Pearl’s answers?”
“Or type them, carve them into stone, send a smoke signal for all I care” Xisuma said, his tone as dry as the desert itself. “As long as you both follow through.”
Pearl scowled, crossing her arms. “What if we don’t have thoughts?”
“Somehow, I think you two have too many thoughts,” Xisuma deadpanned as leveled her with a look. “And not enough self-restraint.”
Gem grinned. “He’s not wrong.”
Or: Xisuma makes them do a little psychological study to help them bond, since they are incapable of doing it themselves.

Summary
It always started as a friend of a friend, if it turned into something more, that wasn't something they meant to indulge in. They did it anyways. Something about his face — the part Scar can see, anyway — is vaguely familiar. His nose and below are covered by a black mask. There are big, nearly rose-tinted sunglasses shoved up into his hair, which is a little bit brown but not quite all the way there. He's very pretty.
"I figured," Scar says honestly.

Scott woke up in a cold hospital room, remembering the past 6 years spent after Martyn’s betrayal. He remembers the murderess that he almost caught. What he doesn’t remember is the 2 years of the resurgence of said murderess that apparently almost killed him, nor the (fairly attractive) brunette staring worriedly at him. Amnesia, the doctors said. Sometimes temporary, but this doesn’t seem to be the case for him.

He doesn’t want to be like this anymore. He doesn’t want to cry over every little thing, he doesn’t want to make his mother's life harder than it already is, and he doesn’t want his sister and father to not be here. Not for the first time, his crocodile tears became real ones, and he fruitlessly keeps trying to wipe them away, along with the memories he has of his dad and twin sister.

“Do everyone a favor and set the sun, would you?” A finger pokes his cheek, prodding and sinking into his skin.
One beat passes. Two. Three. Then four and five and six.
The other shifts, grass laced with drops of dew furling beneath their shoes. “I know you aren’t really asleep.”
Grian sighs and one narrow eye cracks open. There are three things that instantly draw his attention. First, the glare of light beaming down, radiant as it breaches over the horizon and sways and dances in the clear sky, void of any clouds. The second, bundles of ripe, nitid plums brim with sweet nectar dangle scattered across sturdy tree branches. Its leaves are stained emerald and verdun and moss green. So thin one could view through the chartreuse-tinted lenses if they so wished to. The third, his sister, Pearl staring down at him, head parallel to his. Long, ash-brown hair falls gracefully on either side of his head.
Or: Three times Grian and Pearl nearly reveal their godly status and successfully keep it hidden from Hermitcraft. One time they almost fail (and are forced to take drastic measures.)
