He’s also feeling very, very angry. And of the two of them, he decides the anger is better to focus on right now—after all, he can always wallow in self-pity later—and gets up to prepare for a prison break.

Summary
Merlin finds a dragon egg in Camelot's vaults. Unfamiliar instincts drive him to bring it to Avalon where he and Freya hatch the egg and raise the hatchling.
Aithusa quickly accepts them as her parents, and they love her with all the ferocity of the sun she's named after.
Shortly after her first hatch day, Merlin uses his wild dragonlord magic to give Aithusa a human form so he can safely bring her to Camelot.
It goes about as well as anyone could expect.
