Summary
Strange things happening on the Hermitcraft Server lead Xisuma to suggest that the Hermits evacuate through a portal to a new server temporarily whilst he sorts things out. But what’s this? It seems the Hermits have unknowingly arrived in a new game of Life, Power Life.
In Power Life, you are randomly assigned a special ability, these abilities can range wildly in usefulness. But you are also given a set amount of lives that corresponds to the usefulness of the ability. Those with the most useful abilities will have just 2 lives. And those with the least useful abilities will have 6 lives. You are able to transfer these lives to others as a form of currency. You won’t know the specifics of your powers immediately but you will know how many lives you have and for some of you it will be obvious. Others may have to do some testing.
Furthermore, every day one of the non-Red players will be assigned as the boogeyman. Although there is a possibility that more than 1 will be chosen. This player must kill another non-Red by the end of the day or be put on their final life. With that out of the way, let’s get in to Power Life.

Summary
Impulse and Skizz wanted to go big in the Ghost Hunting business. But in order to get enough recognition to join the Ghost Huntin' Distribution Network, where the actual money was (and survive the challenges of ghost hunting) they needed some competent helpers.
Enter Grian and Scar, lured in with the promise of money, a place to stay and free coffee. They didn’t necessarily fit the description of “competent”, but they sure were there to do the job.

Why is he doing this? A bet is not worth it. OK, but seeing Scar's stupid face when he had to give him 20 bucks would be worth it. He just had to sleep a night at a different house, and not get eaten by some ghoulish ghost. Easy. Ghosts don't exist, so the only real hard part would be falling asleep or not dying of boredom. Both typical things he usually experienced anyway.

Impulse knew he’d made his last mistake, even before he turned around.
He had just entered the room, the door slightly ajar, with the plan to look around. Skizz had to be somewhere around here, right?
Unfortunately, it wasn‘t Skizz who was hiding in that room. Impulse realized that too late, as he turned around on his stubby robot legs, facing directly into the barrel of the gun.
He didn‘t scream, that much is to say to save his honor. But the gap where his head was attached, something that could be read as a mouth would a robot have the need for one, trembled a little.
Apparently that slight clatter was enough. Impulse didn‘t even register it, really. He didn‘t hear the sound. The barrel of the gun lit up momentarily and Impulse realized this would be his last moment.[During a job Impulse keeps checking in on his fellow robots, neglecting his own saftety and finding himself in a precarious situation due to it. Grian isn’t wearing his mask.
He should be. It’s at the top of the lengthy list of rules he was given years and years ago, when he first joined the Watchers and became an official hero. His superiors would be furious if they found out that he took off his mask during a patrol. They would…well.
Grian rubs at a tender spot in between his ribs. He doesn’t want to think about what the Watchers would do.
Or, Grian’s been a hero for far too long. He’s been fighting for far too long. He’s so tired—and the rooftop is all too appealing, tonight.

Gem and Grian grinned at each other. Straight ahead of them, lit up by the stark white glow of electricity, was a thin funnel reaching like a giant finger towards the ground.
Grian whooped again, grabbing the handle bar on the roof – the one Gem lovingly called the oh shit handle – as Gem slammed the pedal into the floorboard. The truck tires spun loosely against the dirt road for a second before gaining traction, sending the truck off like a bullet towards the thin tornado.

Grian hesitated, voice catching in his throat as they turned down the driveway of their house, a shadow falling across their faces as they went, “—I dunno. It just hit me, y’know. We really are lucky, aren’t we?”
Scar stilled on the first step up to their porch. Golden hour had cast their little corner of the world in a stark blend of warm illuminated patches and chilly shadows. Grian stood just at the edge of an unlit spot, Scar just at the edge of a lit one.
“Yeah,” he replied, reaching over and helping Grian over the threshold. “Yeah, we are.”

“It is far too late for this,” Grian grouses, yawning against his will. The only one paying any real attention to him is Scar, who is nodding along in sympathy as he fiddles with one of his sound sensors. “How are we supposed to hunt any ghost if we can’t even stay awake?”
“Very good question,” Scar agrees sagely, and Grian huffs. He seems more genuinely frustrated than usual, but it’s Grian. He’s just like that sometimes.
“Usually I’d be in bed at this time, you know. All snuggled up and cozy.” Grian adjusts the high collar of his sweater and sniffs. “You’re ruining my sleep schedule by dragging me along.
“Aww, did G miss his bedtime?” Skizz teases, turning his flashlight on and off testingly. Grian turns a deathly blank glare on him, and Skizz laughs it off, completely unbothered. “Aw, you know I’m joking, bud. It’s late, I know, but we gotta do this job, G.”
Or, one of the ghost hunting trips that GIGS goes on is different from the others, and Grian and Scar can't help but be afraid. Impulse and Skizz are there, though, just like they always are.

“Ah,” Scar said, finally managing to put out the flame. “I see the problem. Or– hear, at least. Well, come on in!”
