[“Uhm, I don’t know who you are,” Zuko grumbles into the phone, effectively cutting probably-drunk-guy off, “but this most definitely isn’t your sister.”
It’s quiet for a few moments and if not for the background noise on the other end of the line, Zuko would assume the stranger had hung up.
“Yeah,” the guy says at last, “you don’t sound like Katara at all.”
“Because I’m not,” Zuko mutters, not all too worried about sounding bitter or rude because it’s the middle of the night and most people would be pretty grumpy at being woken up by some probably drunk stranger.
“So who are you then?” the guy asks.
Zuko blinks a couple of times to himself. “Not your sister?”]

Zuko's early morning starts even earlier when he's rudely woken up by a call from a drunk stranger. Turns out this drunk stranger is kind of endearing though.

Summary
An "alternate ending" to Azula's storyline in the show, in the form of a more definitive ending scene for both her & Ty Lee after Zuko's Coronation as Fire Lord. Meant to serve as a scene that could have happened in canon between Zuko's coronation and the final scene of the series, giving an explanation to why Ty Lee (and Azula) weren't present in the Jasmine Dragon with the Gaang.
Also meant as a "happier ending" that better acknowledges Azula as a person following her hitting rock bottom in the Agni Kai.
Takes place a few weeks/month or so chronologically after being defeated by Katara.
Partially inspired by Grey DeLisle's statement that in her perfect world, post-series Ty Lee & Azula escaped to a romantic desert island. -

Summary
It begins, like most events that change worlds, with something relatively small. In this case, a shipment of seeds for Mai's aunt that was being held up by changing import/export regulations as the United Republic of Nations came into being. Mai's effort to resolve the issue causes her to cross-paths with a certain Water Tribe warrior that had fascinated her even when she was with Zuko. Even as she has to fend off people who still question her choices during the Kemiurkage Crisis
For Sokka's part, his efforts to help a woman he considers a friend unleashes feelings they had both felt were buried. Which would be bad enough, without the mysterious events in a town near the border pointing to a mystery beyond their own skies. Can they work out just how they feel about each other and solve the mystery of what crashed in the mountain's near Chen's Crossing at the same time?

Just as Sokka laments a possible boring time with keeping the troublesome group alive: enter Zuko and Toph. Zuko was just passing through, only to end up being part of a group who cares despite the lack of blood connection. Sometimes you never where you’d go and its ok.
