2 roommates, Roman and Logan, have a very high suspicion of their nextdoor neighbor. He's only outside past 9pm, doesn't appear on the complex's security footage, and is constantly creeping around. People keep going missing around the area and no one believes them. So they make the very dumb decision to try and capture it themselves.
Meanwhile their neighbor in 2B might be the worst vampire in the world. Virgil is struggling to get by as a vampire in the 1990's and is constantly starving. The poor creature is having a horrible time juggling not getting caught and not starving. It's leading to very intense, growing desperation.

“Janus!” Logan already has one foot out the door. “If you aren’t ready I’m leaving without you!”
“Where are you going?” asks Roman, in the kitchen.
“It’s Errand Day,” says Janus, hopping in an undignified way as he shoves on socks. He almost falls, rights himself, and sniffs like he can’t imagine why Patton is staring at him.
“Ah,” nods Virgil. “That’s why you’re leaving at this unholy hour.”
“Nine AM?” says Logan.
“How about everyone comes along?” suggests Janus. “Since they’re so curious.”
Remus leans half his body out his bedroom door to chime,“Yeah! It’ll be fun!”
Logan looks up, slowly. “No. Don’t do this to me. Errand Day isn’t supposed to be fun.”
But Roman is racing back through the apartment for Remus, and Virgil is rustling on his shoes by the door. Janus pats him on the back consolingly, which is ruined by the grin crawling across his face. “It’ll be fun,” he says.
Logan wouldn’t believe that for six dollars and a box of croutons.
Or, the slow process of Logan’s gradual insanity at the hands of his demon nightmare friends and the growing list of stores they’re banned from.

Guards carrying lanterns and with their hands resting on the hilt of their swords patrolled the area and stood quietly in every entry to the castle. Same thing with the sturdy wall surrounding the castle grounds, but those were no longer a part of Logan’s problems as he had already scaled the wall and slipped across it without anyone seeing him.
It hadn’t been much of a challenge, really, this was not the first time Logan had business in the castle, which meant he already knew how to get inside, he had only had to study the guards for a few days to make sure he knew when their shifts changed and at what times certain areas laid unguarded for a moment or two.
Not much seemed to have changed since the last time Logan ventured into the castle, only that this time his target was the soon-to-be king, prince Roman.
