“This is probably a bad time to ask,” Lois asked against Clark's lips, arms wrapped around his unfairly broad shoulders. She had his hips in a leglock, and his hands were on her ass, holding her up with less than a fraction of his infinite strength, “But is this the first time for....”
Clark laughed nervously, breath hot against her cheek and making her shiver, “Yes. Yes, it is.”
“For any of it?” she pulled away just enough to look into his sweet, farmboy eyes. They scared her, sometimes. Their depth of kindness, the lack of judgement. Part of her wanted to dig deeper, find the catch- “With your face and body?”
“Gosh,” he buried his face in her neck, nuzzled against the skin. His warmth was comforting as always, “You sure know how to flatter a guy.”
Lois and Clark have sex for the first time (and the first time ever, for Clark), and Lois has some emotions she can't face just yet.

“Yes, sir,” the CO says, annoyingly hesitant, “I-I mean, he looks a little different in this one, sure –”
“A little?” Lex snaps, then taps a knuckle at the paper on the desk. “Are you fucking blind?”
The CO rolls her lips between her teeth.
Lex growls under his breath and minimizes the browser, bringing up the first social media site that comes up on autocomplete. He searches Clark Kent, taps on the ‘Reporter :)’ result and scowls when he sees it gets updated about once a millennium. It is, also, that same face from the press conference, not the one in the paper. He scrolls, and scrolls, and–
Wait. That’s what it is – it’s all videos. He doesn’t see a single still photo in the lot.

3 years ago, Superman appeared in Metropolis for the first time to stop a Metro train from derailing. Lois Lane broke the story. 6 weeks later, meek and mild-mannered Clark Kent joined the Daily Planet, only to learn that Lois had bigger fish to fry than Superman, and it fell to him to write about his alter ego's extracurricular activities.
Lois Lane did not have time for Superman. Nor did she need to be dealing with a newbie on her trail at work. She was smack dab in the middle of exposing the city's next big corruption case. But Clark Kent had his uses, and he was certainly an enigma of his own.
AKA one possible prequel to the events of Superman (2025)

In a deviation from expectations, Clark and Bruce meet for the first time not as Superman and Batman, and not as reporter and billionaire business owner, but as some version of themselves somewhere in the middle of all their respective identities.
Clark nods, pushes his glasses back into place, smiles. It's sweet. It's comfortable. Bruce feels a sense of peace — there's no need to rush this. He steals one last kiss, then walks back to his car.
He remembers to text Clark later, when he's back at the manor and before patrol, letting him know he made it home safe and wishing him a good night.
He sees Clark again, unplanned, unexpected, Saturday night.

After the Rift, Clark keeps moving. He's a bit lonely, a bit less trusted than he was before, a bit optimistic about a budding new friendship - relationship? He thinks it's fine, until he makes eye contact with him from across the room and feels the cool knife of betrayal slide between his ribs. It only gets more complicated from there.

Clark Kent never considered himself a fearful person. Insecure, yes, a little shy? Definitely! But never fearful, and that's exactly why he didn't understand the absurd fear that gripped his entire being with the imminent future: his first Christmas with the Waynes.
It wasn't as if he didn't know them; in fact, he knew them all too well. However, this would be the first time he would spend Christmas with his fiancé, Bruce Wayne, and not with his parents in rural Kansas or with his ex-wife. And the Wayne children and all their entourage could be very intimidating and overprotective when they wanted to be. For this and many other reasons, Clark was completely panicked by the challenge of dealing with various cultures during the holidays, trying to be a cool future stepfather, and still making sure his family didn't feel abandoned. But he would have to succeed if he ever wanted to officially be Mr. Wayne.
