Summary
For as long as Yanqing can remember, he has been able to see them.
The woman with light colored hair, who looks at all the world as if it doesn't matter. The jester with blue hair, with mischief in his eyes and lies in his tongue. The man with black hair, with a hot-headed personality and fire in his eyes. The knight with the dark helmet, silent as the vacuum of space and just as dark in color scheme. And the angel with pink hair, with feathery wings and a gentle yet sleepy gaze.
They're the only thing he remembers from before the general found him. They're the only thing he has of his past life, before being taken in by Jing Yuan.
A lot of time has passed since then, and he still sees them quite frequently, he just hopes the General will stop trying to take him to the Alchemy Commission anytime he sees Yanqing talking to someone who can't be seen.
(Or: Ever since he was young, Yanqing has been able to interact with the 5 Beasts, who got attached and decided to take care of him. Now watch how this affects his life as the Lieutenant and General's retainer.)

This a story between two travelers, one was a boy who after witnessing the awful truth about his origin, he was blessed by the god he despise and after he became a being beyond human comprehension, doesn't want to let go of his love for the star. The other was a girl who after seeing the traumatic origin of a story, she wanted to forget but doesn't want to forget him. Both of them are in a limbo in terms of their feelings of love for each other, not knowing that the guy in question started to develop aa twisted desire that surpasses all understanding.
This happens after all the shenanigans in Amphoreus, basically Lord Ravager Phainon is jealous of how Stelle is close to other people, especially the guys, so he decided to pay her a visit and observe her so he can have her for himself (this is a stalking behavior, don't do this irl)
(Aventurine, Jing Yuan, Gepard, Sunday, Screwllum and Dan Heng appear here as something like a punchbag for our ex Deliverer, sorry not sorry for their first meeting but they'll make up later :3)

He felt the moisture in the otherwise dry and airy room and absorbed it, feeling his hair grow long and horns form on the crown of his head. His tail curled around March and Caelus protectively, and with a swish of his fingers, he let the dragon soar, hitting the thing straight in its chest...
It was gone.
Behind him, Caelus let out an ear splitting cry

Yanqing always looked up to his master General Jing Yuan, and it wasn't long before his admiration turned into something more-a weird obsession over his General. He started to find himself staring at his General's lips during his sparring lessons, wondering how they would feel under his own...weird feelings unfamiliar to the proud sword prodigy arose, and he was unable to say a word without his face turning red and stuttering, let alone boast about his sword techniques like he used to. And he feared one day even the company of him could not quench his thirst...not until the General became his.
Meanwhile, Jing Yuan tries to matchmake Yanqing with Yunli, an esteemed sword hunter from the Xianzhou Zhuming and General Huaiyan's granddaughter. Similar age, same obsession with swords (Jing Yuan should consider himself lucky that he did not know what his darling disciple and retainer had been obsessing over these days)...they are practically MADE for each other. Little did he know that Yunli takes bullying Yanqing as her hobby, and Yanqing would really rather eat a stinky shoe than spend a day with Yunli.

Sushang frowns, looking up at Yanqing from her position beside the bedrest. “He won’t be here just because I'm hurt.”
“No, he will,” Yanqing insists. “He cares about the Cloud Knights. He is always there whenever I'm hurt.”
Sushang lets out a sigh before her mouth forms a smile—one that Yanqing realizes is a mocking smile. “Do you know how many other Cloud Knights get hurt every day? Thousands.” Sushang says, staring at Yanqing with a deadpan expression. “He doesn’t care about any Cloud Knight, he just cares about you.”
“Because I am a Cloud Knight—”
“No, because you are his son.”
Yanqing flushes. Then, just as pink started to spread across his cheeks, his frown deepened. “I-I’m not!”

300 years after Jing Yuan’s death, Yanqing still struggles with coming to terms and now that he’s older, he’s burying himself with his official duties as the Lieutenant Sword Champion of the Luofu. Guinaifen has passed away as is the fleeting lifespan of a short life species, and Sushang and Qingque have their own official duties they must account for themselves. However, no matter how busy their days have become, they’re still willing to take time out of their day to help their friend. So they clear their schedules for one week and force Yanqing to confront his grief head on by spending time with an old flame, that melt his icy heart of his.
