When Python fell into Chaos, Apollo thought that was it. He finished his quest, and he would reclaim his godly form. Unfortunately for him, there was a reason he was so successful in bashing Python’s head against the walls as they fell toward Tartarus: Python had a certain level of power over the strings of Fate, and by the time Apollo climbed up from that ledge, Python had tied a large knot in the strings belonging to Apollo and Meg. As the two get transported through time back to when they first met, they are forced to navigate their quest all over again–and this time, it won’t be in nearly as linear a fashion as before.

He was dying there, against that car, blood filling the fabric of his jacket to remind him that nothing gets through life stain free. It’s not that easy. Nothing is that easy.
Including Chishiya’s decision to leave the Borderlands.
Which brings Chishiya to the cold hard truth. He isn’t sure if he made the right decision. If he stayed, he would’ve died. He was bleeding out, there wasn’t really any saving him.
Unless he declined. Unless he came back to the “real” world.
He supposes that was his reason for coming back. If he had to make a guess.
He actually wasn’t even completely sure if that would save his life and if it did, he still wasn’t sure if he wanted his life saved.
But he still came back.
He still chose not to stay.

Summary
New York City in 1997 is as good a place as any to start again. Eddie and Mike are the last ones in Derry, and, following their college graduation, they move to New York with nothing more than hope and a promise to never turn back. They plan to meet Bill in the city, and maybe anyone else who comes along too.
But trauma lays heavy on their heads. And the kind of trauma that comes from a demon alien clown isn’t the kind you can get over in a night, in a season.
When the losers reunite, they can finally relearn each other, and learn to live life away from Derry and away from all the pain they had experienced. They can start new lives together, safe with the assumption that what nearly killed them in their childhood was dead, and their trauma was in the past.
But things don’t stay dead in Derry.
