“Technically we agreed to it,” says his co-host Will, who’s wearing a pair of proper working gloves that are partially hidden with his arms crossed over his chest.
“That no one asked for,” Mike repeats, and Will sighs in the background.
aka the one where mike and will are hosts of a post-apocalyptic house renovation show. hilarity ensues.

Mike chuckles at this and Will grins at the sound as he tosses his leg over his bike. El gives him a look that says, ‘Let’s go already’. “I mean if I could make art like you I think I’d have my whole room decorated,” Mike adds. “I mean I could like design my own characters and everything.”
Will is about to pull off when he says, “I could teach you, it’d be cool to have new stuff for the campaigns,” almost absentmindedly, not even really thinking about what he’s saying. “But I’m not sure how good a teacher I’d be.”
“Really, you’d do that?” Mike says, whipping his head up to look directly at Will.
“I- yeah, yeah, for sure. Why not? I don’t really have much else to do,” Will says, only just now realizing what he offered.
“Oh sure, but only since you have absolutely nothing better to do.”

Will offers to give Mike art lessons as they enter their junior year of high school. Mike gladly accepts. Homosexual chaos ensues.

When he was younger, Mike always thought that adults and older kids were from another planet. They didn’t care about anything important, they weren’t any fun, and they seemed to operate under some mysterious set of rules that nobody else understood. That was what made the Party so important; they got it. Mike didn’t need to be worried about crossing some invisible line every time he spoke, because they were the same. When he said something, they heard it, and vice versa.
He used to be scared he’d become just like Nancy and all her friends one day, but now he’s terrified that the opposite might be true.
After the Byers move into the Wheelers house and Will starts sleeping in the basement, Mike can't stop himself from hovering at the top of the stairs every time he has a nightmare. With a few bumps along the way, this somehow culminates in a whole lot of cuddling and a hell of a lot more personal introspection.

“You guys have gotten really close.” Mike tells her, trying to make conversation but unable to really hold a steady tone. Instead it comes off condescending. “Will’s allowed to have more than one friend, you know?” Robin replies, and Mike cannot believe her right now. Seriously, she comes in here out of nowhere and thinks she knows Will better than Mike? “I never said he couldn’t.” Mike shoots back. “Plus, are you guys seriously just friends?” Mike says, his eyes narrowing. And again, Robin's eyebrows shoot up. “Very much so, just friends. Like, the emphasis on very is almost comical-” Robin laughs nervously and quickly shuts herself up. “But, why would it matter so much?” Robin continues, a different look in her eye. “It doesn’t matter.” Mike says. “I was just asking.” Any and all forms of tears that might’ve been on Mike’s face are gone now, because he's strictly just annoyed. “Look, I promise you we’re just friends. Sometimes… you just need someone to go to for other things. He’s still your best friend, Wheeler.”
