Despite his casual air, Shouta was laser focused. He took in and processed information in a snap. Usual things, like the visual appearance of the room he was entering, but also things unique to Heroes and things unique to cats. The room had narrow dimensions, cold tile floor, pale blue walls, a bed in one corner and a dresser in the other, and no handle at all on the inside of the door. It smelled of laundry detergent and disinfectant and the faint but unmistakable scent of blood and medicine. There were boxes pushed up against the floorboards, what looked like children’s toys, dolls and stuffed animals and coloring books, all in their original, untouched packaging. There was a little girl kneeling on the bed, fear on her face and pain written in every line of her body.

Summary
A new era is upon BreezeClan, CliffClan, FlameClan, and StreamClan. With a new generation of leaders comes a new set of apprentices for the Clanless Clowder, a group of cats blessed with immortality and expected to commune with ShineClan, interpret their messages, and ensure peace is kept between all four clans.
Petalpaw feels as if the weight of her entire clan rests on her shoulders. When her brother is made a Clowder apprentice, she knows it is up to her, as Rainstar's only remaining kit, to grow into the strong and capable warrior she's expected to be.
While Branch is proud to have been selected by ShineClan to be a future Clowder member, their so-called "grand destiny" thus far has only given them anxiety. As their fellow apprentices begin receiving ShineClan signs, Branch starts to wonder if ShineClan is second-guessing choosing them when they're met by silence. Now they know they must prove they are worthy of such duty.
Sunpaw knows he's destined for something greater than average warrior duties. Signs from the ancestors are supposed to be meant only for Clowder members, after all. Yet, he's been receiving them. The only problem? No cat believes him.
