Summary
Oh, when you love it. Oh, when you used to sing it to sleep.
In another world, another time, the Chain faces down Deshival the Forsaken; his ex-husband deals the killing blow, with a prayer for his soul.
In this world, Arvain saves him instead - but it's not enough to just change sides. The war has been bloody, particularly since Deshival was put at the helm of the dread vampire Valmore's forces; Deshival may have agreed to slay his Sire and current husband, but that hardly absolves him of his crimes against Arlan. One can only attain redemption through toil and effort - but it remains to be seen whether Deshival even wants to be redeemed.
Only time can tell if Deshival is the same man Arvain married all those years ago.

So, she leaves.
She finally looks at her life, her empty apartment, warded like a fortress, her tired eyes, unyielding nightmares, the anger that threatens to overcome her when she peeks at another article about her in the prophet. She looks around herself and knows, deep in her bones, that she can never become the witch she’s meant to be until she can breathe. Until she can shed the hypervigilance and begin to live again. -

After Harry Potter and Hermione Granger testify at Draco Malfoy’s trial, all Draco wants is to be left alone. Considering the damage he directly caused, he’s surprised he only has community service, which he decided to fulfill by helping fix Hogwarts, and then was sentenced to house arrest for three years. When the end of the second year rolls around, however, the Wizengamot gave him the option to either complete the third year as scheduled or probation in another country.
What happens when he chooses probation? Follow along as we see Draco crossing the pond to find himself in a way he couldn’t have ever dreamed.
This is done and I’m pretty proud of it. I had so much fun writing it and I hope people keep finding it and enjoying it as much I enjoyed writing it.

Summary
After the blood wards collapse and Harry is cast out by the Dursleys, he’s left without a guardian—just as Fudge circles, eager to seize custody.
