Heartstring marionette- astrella (One Piece)
WIP Ch14 to reread and review.
OC is a woman called Homura, a Marine Captain (now Commodore); she's red haired, one of Garp's students, with an interesting personality (hilarious sense of humour) and developed (some of my favourite) secondary characters, like her second, Volke, and the adopted (kindof) kid she rescued, Sena!She's strategic, clever and reads like a leader. It feeds into her decision-making, she's very aware of her role but also clearly has her own individual ideas around these concepts. She's currently got a deal with Law, but holds her own.

Hanabusa Aidou didn't like humans. They were below him; something to be pitied not admired. Imagine his surprise when his best friend became a human girl. An unlikely friendship of two unlikely people.

I Don't Date Vampires - J_L_Hynde (Vampire Knight, Aido H x OC eventually - slow burn and friendship first!)
WIP, Ch14
Notes:
OC is Katherine, she's a non-Japanese student who attends Cross Academy (from being homeschooled), due to her Uncle Luke's (Lucien) newest work assignment sending him to go to work in a warzone (as a freelance journalist). The story is largely light-hearted, it has some emotional moments of varying degrees so far. The writing is good quality, the style reads well and the characters are ALL pretty fleshed out - feels like highschool students and a bit (last few chapters) like a slice-of-life anime/manga <3 in the best way. There's clearly some mystery/a hidden story behind Katherine being in danger in the past, and it might tie to her parent's MIA/deaths, as we're fed little breadcrumbs (e.g. she knows some martial arts/her Uncle taught her, Yagari seems to recognise her face and reflects on a woman he was friends with, and later her bf - who are dead with no known kids, the bus driver for her group to the camping school trip being switched out with a Level-E BUT that's a side-thing, ONLY she doesn't know that and was EXPECTING someone to attack her. So, things like that). I love that this story fleshes out lots of the Day Class students, and that the characters all have their own personalities (And the ones we know aren't acting out of character without development/explanation if they do -arguably a bit Aido and e.g. Kaname with the cake night baking incident), and dynamics with each other as well as the MC, Katherine. And she's got a compelling personality and again - the writing style is good, it shifts perspectives smoothly and conveys different voices well. :DSummary:
