Summary
A certain day in Danes, Thorfinn, Askeladd and Bjorn encounter a strange old woman, that says she's a witch and will curse all who disrespect her, everyone thinks of her words as fake, yet when Thorfinn mocks her he's met with a lightning striking right on him..
Once Thorfinn wakes up from his mini 3 day coma, he runs out of the building and frantically looks everywhere for Askeladd, even under a rock.
Thorfinn gets hit by lightning caused by a witch, sees the future and the unfortunate events that happen within, realizes that he'd much prefer Askeladd to be alive even if he where to be the one that killed him, becomes extremely paranoid and scared for Askeladd while trying to keep him alive.

The weather is cold, there's snow everywhere, not even close to how thick it was back in Iceland but still enough to do harm, Thorfinn is dizzy, he's half wet from stumbling into the snow covered ground, he's cold, he's tired, he's on the verge of crying, he just wants to go sleep in a warm bed just like in the old days again, but of course instead he has some old barn that barely looks like it could hold on another night, it's cold, he has a headache, he's cold, will this please just end already?
He's walking towards the village they've pillaged last night, he didn't want to sleep too close to Askeladd's disgusting selfish lap dogs partying, drinking and laughing all night, so instead of the usual barn he wandered off into the cold woods, what a big mistake, he probably would've gotten a smaller headache than this if he just slept in the barn.. He's too tired to walk anymore, he just gives up and falls on the snow covered ground a few steps afar from the door from the big house Askeladd took for himself last night.
Or... Thorfinn gets sick in the woods on a winter morning and is cared for by Askeladd himself.

"Listen," Askeladd interrupted, voice dropping to a serious tone. He wasn't playing this push-and-pull anymore. "I've got a meeting with the Duke of Sveal, who's got more spies than sheep and will start frothing at the mouth and flashing dollar signs in his eyes the second he sees Canute. So I need the prince out of sight, out of mind, and preferably occupied somewhere not here."

"Then...then teach me how to earn the dirt!" Canute shouts, his plea ringing through the air loud enough to shake Thorfinn to his very core. Thorfinn looks down at his own hands—cracked and dirty with all kinds of mud beneath his fingernails. The layers to the grime on his hands have their own layers settled in the joints of his fingers.
Thorfinn thinks. Loosening the hug on himself, no longer needing to warm himself up after the fire Canute just brought before him with his words.
