REWRITE OF: Time Flies By (Bye) but with some fun (and angsty) changes!
“So that was a total failure.”
At least saying it out loud helps because those phone calls sure didn’t. In fact, they only confirmed the worst of panic-stricken ideas that have been looming in a space of Peter’s mind he calls “The Irrational Panic Zone.”
The Irrational Panic Zone (Peter almost wants to trademark it) includes thoughts such as: “Everyone actually remembers me but pretends that they don’t because they hate me,” and, “I killed my aunt,” and, “Your neighbor is actually a spy for Nick Fury because he knows everything and is a horrible, horrible man,” and, “It’s your fault Thanos won the first time,” and, most recently, “This is not your universe.”
Y’know. Thoughts that would send him into a totally rational panic at any given moment, making it therefore irrational to think about them. It all works out.
(Or, Peter Parker wakes up in Gotham and no one is particularly happy about it.)

Even with his head down, Peter could sense Mr. Stark rustling around in his pockets for something. If he trained his ears towards the noise, he could just make out a thrumming vibrational sound, mixed with an incessant buzz of high-pitched static.
Peter threw his head up with panicked realization. He knew that sound.
“You’re not Mr. Stark,” Peter managed to gasp.
Mr. Stark smirked. “Aren't I?"

Summary
The dean of Empire State University is a very convincing person after Tony's had several drinks. So, Tony's stuck teaching an undergraduate class for a semester. He expects to hate every second of it, knowing the students are either going to be suck-up know-it-alls who are socially inept or just plain stupid.
What he doesn't expect is to have a freshman in his course who's smarter than most graduate students he's met.
19-year-old Peter Parker was miraculously able to get into Tony Stark's class after testing high enough in his placement tests and his college credits from high school covering the required prerequisites. He never thought in a million years that he'd correct his professor. He definitely never thought Tony Stark would offer him a TA position on the first day of classes.
Neither of them thought that they'd fall for each other. Late nights in the lab, coffee-fueled study sessions, and shared scientific breakthroughs start blurring the lines between mentor and student as the semester progresses.

When Nick Fury recruited 19-year-old Peter Parker as the newest Avenger, the whole team was a little lost for words. Tony Stark especially thought Fury was crazy for recruiting a 19-year-old kid. Peter was shocked and baffled by the opportunity to meet and work with all his favorite heroes, especially Tony Stark, who's been his idol since he was a little boy.
However, when peter gets to the tower, he's not met with the welcoming committee he was expecting. Tony Stark hates his guts for a reason that's completely unknown to him. The rest of the team takes a bit to warm up to him, but eventually Peter starts to feel at home in the Compound and with the team. Well, except for Tony that is.
Every Sunday Steve insists on an early morning team training session. It's become routine for all the heroes to wake up at the crack ass of dawn to spar together. During one particular training session though, Tony decides to go a little harsh on Peter. It's not unusual for Tony to go harsh on the kid, but "harsh" usually doesn't end up with Tony shooting a repulsor blast towards Peter's head.
An argument obviously ensues and the two fight for what seems like ages until they find they have nothing else to fight about.
