After four months of waiting, Rey - who has serious abandonment issues - decides it's time to pick up the shattered pieces of her life and move on. What happens when Ben and Rey unexpectedly run into each other the following December at a New York City gala? Can what was broken be rebuilt? And what secrets will be revealed?
UPDATE DEC. 24, 2024 -- I got to thinking about this story from a year ago. In particular about the characters and where they would be today. I was inspired to write a couple of new chapters to satisfy my own curiosity. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed revisiting the tale.
UPDATE DEC. 5, 2025 -- Did I say a couple of new chapters? I mean a handful ... three year to date, and another couple to go. I plan to wrap this up with a bow by Christmas. If you've hung with me this far on this story, I appreciate you. I'm having fun with it, and I hope you will, too!

It’s not like she held a grudge against them for suddenly being recognized, but she missed when they were playing the same venues and learning the secret ways around together. The joy of discovering secret bathrooms that were millions of times cleaner than the other ones in the venue was always immeasurable."
Ben abandoned Rey almost 3 years ago when his band, First Order, won their first Grammy.
Now they’re both in the studio, recording albums at the same time in the same place.
