“Hello, little one!” Merlin used the same high-pitched voice that he usually used on babies and kittens. Arthur would never admit that he found it adorable. He lifted his hands to get a closer look at Arthur, who found it strange to be so close to his face. Merlin smiled at him and gently stroked his back with one long finger.
And so the day went by, with Merlin believing the King was off with his knights, and the knights believing he was in the armory with Merlin. No one would notice that their King was missing until dinner time, or even late evening depending on their schedules.

He can hear the slick trickle of blood leaking from capillaries, the halting beat of a heart struggling to pump.
“Bruce,” Clark gasps. “Oh, God. Hold on.”

Summary
In the midst of capturing a magical creature, Merlin is transported to a world where Camelot is home to thousands of magic-users. King Uther is nowhere to be found, Arthur is a prince again, and Queen Ygraine sits on the throne.
Merlin plans to get back to his own reality, to his own Camelot. To do that, however, he must have access to information that is inside a shielded castle protected by powerful sorcerers. The only way in is to participate in the Apprentice Exam and be an apprentice to a magic-user included in Camelot's court. Should be easy . . . right?
Conspiracies are afoot and Merlin just knows that, somehow, he is or will be involved. Just his luck.

He asks after you; another friendly voice answers. The hand retreats, and you are awash with fear because you cannot see and you cannot move and you cannot speak and you cannot draw a sword when he needs you to.
So you try to swim upward, guided by light refracting in the waters that your mind escaped to. But the harder you kick, the faster that razor-like pain returns. It’s carved into every inch of your skin — a thousand cuts for the sin of not being strong enough.
To this day I am in awe that Zoro was essentially ready to give up his dream to keep Luffy alive. This one-shot is born out of the question, Does Zoro ever feel guilty about choosing Luffy?
