Another scream found its way to Yuri, but there was a soft tapping sound that followed; it almost sounded like something was trying to claw its way inside. It must be a stray or something. The teen re-assured himself with this thought before making his way to the door, but every step made it seem like it was kilometers away.
Sleet still beat against the window and the house as he gripped the handle, but he suddenly froze when he pulled the door open. The draft of cold hit him as a pitiful cry echoed in his mind.
“You’ve got to be kidding me…” Little arms wrapped around Yuri's leg as blue eyes gazed up at him. The blanket wrapped around them was soaking wet and almost frozen.
The noise and the small banging sound came from a…a baby!
The accident left Yuri a shell of his former self, but when a crying bundle is left on his doorstep...everything changes.
