Summary
Obi-Wan’s Jedi reflexes barely had time to register what happened, before a huge blue squeaking blur flew across the living-room and slammed into his body, slightly knocking the air out of him. The momentum would have thrown him crashing hard into the opposite wall, unless a large scaly tail had caringly cushioned him; coiling itself around Obi-Wan’s tense body in a warm squeezing hug.
”Whoooah! Well, hello there, my dear Boga!” Obi-Wan chuckled, as the large golden beak came up to his face, nudging him affectionally on his rosy cheek and curve of the neck.
Slightly trembling fingers brushed through the billowing mane of azur feathers; the warmth of a beloved familiar giving him a comfort and soothing Obi-Wan himself hadn’t realized he desperately craved. He felt himself relax into the embrace. Breaths deep, he allowed the scent of his home and the varactyl to fill up his lungs.

Before his master could answer, Rex stumbled into the seat beside him. When Anakin glanced over to the 501st captain, there was a large grin across his face. “Hey commander,” Rex greeted. “Want some twist candy?” Gesturing, it was only then that Anakin realized the man’s arms were loaded down with sweets.
“Lights?”
Kit frowned. “Larep? Lights?”
His headset buzzed softly, static crackling through the speaker, before the Kalleran’s voice came through. “Sorry about that Kit! We’re still finishing up our lamp round. Just need to change out Nac’s spot! Should be a couple more minutes.”

The strong beak glistened majestically in the naturally created spotlight; the golden and black maw allowed a questioning squeak to slip out. Taking the Jedi in, the tangerine eyes scanned over his broken body, landing on his injured leg, before returning to his sweaty face and then on his still welcoming shaking hand.
The large creature carefully closed the remaining distance between them, until the black tip of the beak made contact with the trembling fingers.

There were already clones running past them. Obi-wan turned off his lightsaber. The plasma melted away, and so did Obi-wan’s strength. He and Boga sank to the ground together.
