He's not paying attention to his emotions, unsure what color he must be. If Cooper notices a shift in hue, he doesn't point it out.
"What?" Cooper pouts, rolling over clumsily so his stomach presses against the table - scattering even more cards in the process, "Can't I just drop by to visit you?"

Connor shakily stands, turning to XD and beginning to speak. His voice trembles with pain, but his intention is clear, his words writing themselves into existence as he speaks.
"Make me a magical boy, please," He says. His voice falters for a moment, feeling Ty staring at him.
Connor feels a pang of guilt in his chest for breaking the promise he made to Schlatt, but he has to. It's the only way he can fix this.
"Just let me protect him. Please." He continues. "Just let me see him again."
XD nods, and like that, Connor's fate is sealed.

Another loud crack of thunder outside, this time just barely missing Joko's house, so the sound echoes loudly through the walls. Cooper jumps slightly, already shivering from the rain soaking his clothes, making him look more like a scared wet cat than a fish.
