He had known who would be waiting for him on the other side of the door, but his breath still caught in his throat as he took in Eskel. He had been strong in high school, already working at the hardware store in town and lugging around wood all day. Geralt had used to come in and ask for the heaviest things off of the highest shelves to repair the stables just so that he could watch him work. And of course they had snuck their fair share of kisses in the spray paint aisle.
Eskel was even stronger now than he had been then, and answering the door in only a pair of worn gray sweats, the ones with the name of the school wrestling team that Geralt had been on on the thigh, gave him a full view. He wanted nothing more than to be squished against Eskel’s soft chest and breathe in his scent of wood and metal and pine.
And Eskel, being Eskel, read his mind.
“Hi babe,” Eskel had whispered, pulling Geralt against his bare chest, his cold cheek pressed against the fluffy chest hair that had only just begun to grow the last time he had seen him. “I didn’t realize you were back in town.”
