Summary
Shuriken, due to the nature of his job, was quite proficient in hiding bruises. Did it involve some makeup that he had to steal from his sister? Yes, it did. But the Silver Shadow, vigilante of Thieves’ Den, couldn’t risk becoming plant fertilizer.
He wasn’t any sort of makeup expert (unless his arm design counted), and he’d had to search up how to hide bruises on incognito mode on his crappy laptop when he’d first become a vigilante. But now he could effectively hide his bruises without a second glance.
The issue? He was out of concealer.
And so, the Silver Shadow, the professional, the master of disguise, was going to a makeup store to find himself some concealer. (Not that boys couldn’t wear makeup. Shuriken is very supportive of everyone and how they choose to express themselves, you know. What kind of vigilante would he be?)

After suddenly waking up in the middle of the night, the first thing Slingshot noticed was how quiet it was. While normally, it would be quiet since everyone was supposed to be asleep, his roommate, Shuriken, was a bit of a loud snorer.
That was the understatement of the year. Shuriken snored hecka loud. He always had to sleep after Sling and Vinestaff, otherwise, neither of them would be able to sleep at all.
Slingshot slid out of bed and tiptoed before Shuriken's room, easing the door open.
No one was there.
Absolutely no one.
He checked the rest of the apartment, unease curling tighter with every empty room. Surely Shuriken didn’t decide to leave in the middle of the night, right?

If you asked Shuriken how he felt about this situation? In all honesty, he would say blame Medkit.
Now, he hadn’t talked to said inphernal often, as he mostly met him while phighting. Something he didn’t do as frequently as many of the other phighters.
The last time he had attended one, the healer had questioned him about his grapple; and if he ever had considered the possibility of it breaking on him with how recklessly he fired it.
He had quickly shut down the idea and ended the conversation. But the idea had been lingering in the back of his mind all week.
He had begrudgingly been paying more attention to where he aimed, but it felt like it was holding him back more than it was helping. He had lost a criminal only yesterday because he spent too long choosing where to grapple!
But finally, he had forgotten about his worries. He was chasing some random punk who had decided to steal a young, homeless inphernals first paycheck. The breeze he felt jumping and grappling through the different buildings had made his concerns completely slip his mind!
Then he misfired and landed in a random alley.

(I once read in the wiki that Shuriken represent his faction’s name the best so my mind was like “Alright, let’s make a fanfic inspired of that.” Btw, this is my very first published fic so please be nice!)
