It also helped him explain how after many decades of living, he had yet to find a wife.
Something was wrong, he had never even spared a woman a second glance in his life, much to the appreciation of the head of the church as it ensured his vow of celibacy wouldn't be so easily broken. But now, this woman, who hasn't even said her name, filled his mind and thoughts.

The story of Crowely and Aziraphale goes back 6000 years ago. Some may think of them as an ineffable pair as these two witnessed the beginning of time, earth, and beyond. Their inseprable bond proved to wistand the test of time. As they were both able to escape their executions which resulted in them being kicked out of heaven and hell. Crowely and Azriaphale are now living an idyllic and quiet life for themselves. Could there have been more moments that took place behind closed doors that helped cultivate such a powerful bond? Or did demon and angel come together to form an agreement, a pact of sorts? Their bliss is short lived as they both learn that pacts made under wraps eventually come to the forefront and potentially unravel. Including as all of mistruths and diseptions that helped form such pacts. As emotional states go ungoverned it can potentially make one lash out and commit an act that comes from a dark place. Can both demon and angel overcome their betrayals agains each other? Or did their desicions lead to eternal damnation?

… Well ok, it wasn’t *entirely* accidental. He meant to do it, he just didn’t really believe it was going to work, at least until Crowley turned up.
Which leaves him with a dilemma: how can you be sure that the incredibly handsome demon who just appeared really wants to sleep with you, and isn’t just saying that because he’s bound by the summoning? Fretting over his ethical dilemma, they come up with a solution that will prove that Crowley really does want to sleep with Aziraphale, and after that… Well, Crowley wants to keep his beautiful angelic bastard forever. And he’s a very clever demon who knows how to make that happen…

There are books missing from the library in the Abbey. A crime, Aziraphale suspects, that carries something much more serious underneath. He isn't expecting to deal with a demon summoned to kill him. He isn't expecting to find an ally in the oddest place.

“Okay, so. The thing is,” Crowley starts, shifting again in his spot, “uh, someone wants you dead.”
Aziraphale blinks. “Pardon?”
“Didn’t you hear me? Someone wants you dead. As in deceased. As in six-feet-under. As in–”
“Alright, alright! That’s quite alright, thank you,” Aziraphale chokes out. “I still don’t see–”
Crowley heaves a sigh. “Listen, Angel.” He leans forward, elbows pressed against his knees, his hair falling around him like a curtain made of fire. He closes his eyes before continuing. “Truth is, someone summoned me to, er, to kill you, actually.”
