An uncanny knack for survival that boy possessed, a vicious refusal to simply die.
Broken as his body was, as twisted and shredded, as the cloth on his back was tattered, as painfully it was clinging to his wound, he persisted. Bore the lacerations across his flesh, some still smoking and others oozing, with his head still above the rest; cradled the gaping wound in his abdomen like an expecting woman, careful of her forming young.
Were he Irken, he surely would’ve hit the Big Red Button implanted into his arm. Vortian, he’d do similar with a rigged, last-ditch-effort-only bracelet. Yet he persists, unsteady feet in boots full of popped blisters under him—he will survive. He will live.

Summary
It is a dark time for the universe. The Irken Empire's latest attempt at conquest, Operation Impending Doom 2, has begun and within months, many worlds have fallen under Irk's banner. Among them are the Vortians, former allies of the Irkens that have been punished for their 'betrayal'. Their homeworld, along with many of their colony worlds, have fallen. The remaining Vortian-controlled worlds are under siege.
Their military is outgunned and outnumbered, on the verge of breaking entirely. Many of them have already lost hope and are just fighting on out of spite. The Vortians need a new plan. They need a way to buy enough time for themselves and their allies enough to regroup and reorganise. To unite the universe against their true enemy.
Lard Nar, former top scientist and now military commander, has resigned himself to dying at the hands of the Vortians’ former ally. He wasn’t expecting to be recruited for the Federation Remnants’ latest resistance plan. Nor was he expecting to be one of his people’s greatest champions in their war against the Empire…

Though when he gets called back to Irk to take place in a measuring that will determine the new Tallest, he drops everything to attend. But when he's actually found to be the new tallest Irken, will he be prepared for the responsibilities that the title of Almighty Tallest comes with?

Thrust into space, bonds are stretched to the limit as the pair must come to terms that they might not be as different as they might’ve once thought.
AKA A full-scale space epic, where Dib and Zim might just be the key to save the universe from total annihilation. That is, if they can stop fighting each other long enough to do so.

Summary
On the eve of Dib's 13th birthday, Zim goes missing. A year later, Dib dies in a terrible "accident". 4 years after Zim's disappearance, he returns to find the Membrane family in shambles. Membrane is a shell of his former self, Gaz is trapped in the mental health facility her brother had previously been sent to, and Dib is dead. GIR had long been dismantled, his internal power core and memory chip salvaged, leaving poor, defective, outlaw Zim with nothing.
Yet, despite this, there is hope.
Membrane reaches out to Zim, offering him a space in his home. Zim reaches back, and they slowly begin rebuilding and repairing their found family. Things aren't easy, however. Gaz still blames Zim for her brother's death and her father for locking her away, Membrane still doesn't know how to parent, and GIR is really annoying. Zim is still traumatized from his time in space (which he refuses to talk about), and the Irken Empire isn't ready to let the most widely hated outlaw off so easily.
Dib's ghost still haunts the family, and they'll be forced to address what really happened to Dib on the day of his 14th birthday (and space wars!)
