Summary
It's been five months since everything ended. They saved the world, but nothing will ever be the same.
Ráine Greenriver, a somewhat-reluctant leader to his patron's cult, is called to the town of Rosebud to investigate some concerning murders. Someone is killing his priests, and he needs to find the culprit and make an example out of them. Yet somehow that's the least of his problems. When he runs into an old friend, he is forced to confront his past and childhood--something he desperately wants to forget. What should have been a straightforward mission has become very, very personal.
Now he is at war with his two identities, the man he once was and the thing he is now. He's not even sure who he wants to win. Plagued by guilt and loss, madness certainly seems less painful to face.
But hey, there's no war without peace, right?

All of him. He’s drowning in his own madness and guilt, a complete ocean’s worth of it.
