Summary
A summer charity gala in Detroit throws Quinn Hughes and Joe Burrow into the same orbit, even though neither has any idea who the other is. One polite introduction turns into a night of unexpected ease, the kind that settles under the skin in a way neither of them can name. They tell themselves it's nothing more than a surprisingly good conversation. They tell themselves they will forget about it.
They don't.
Soon, there are texts at midnight, shared jokes, “accidental” meetups, and long silences that feel like confessions.
