Summary

If you haven't already, take a read of my other fic, titled "Butcher's Daughter" first for the whole backstory!
After escaping the walls of Villedor and reaching the open roads, Aiden and Sabine have the rest of their lives ahead of them. They are free, and they are now able to reach for whatever dreams they may conjure in their brains, including the option to reunite with Hakon at the ocean's edge.
That is, until Spike comes to them with a request. He has found his old friend, and the entire reason for taking on the perilous life of a Pilgrim seems close to conclusion.
However, in their attempt to rescue the legendary Kyle Crane, Aiden has lost everything, once again. The Baron has him, along with Kyle, and has subjected them to experiments to turn them into his own creation. However, some small part of Aiden still sees the resolution, and he will stop at nothing to finish the mission, rescue Spike, and reunite with his partner.
The wilderness of Castor Woods proves to be his challenge and his evolution grounds. Will he find what he has lost and regain his freedom, or will he lose himself completely to the Beast, along with everything and everyone that he loves? -

The events in the VNC tower went pretty much the same, just that the "power" hit Aiden harder.Hakon thinks Aiden died in the VNC tower and comes back as volatile to haunt/kill him for all the betrayals. Whilst blaming himself for letting the kid go there.
Aiden on the other hand is trying to take his new instincts under control, all whilst everything in him is screaming to go steal Hakon to himself. So he compromises by keeping an eye on (read: stalking) Hakon from a distance.
