As humanity progressed, so did society. If you were born with...let's say a large set of color-changing wings, you're bound to be teased and bullied, because society deems it disgusting.

Ash only snickered, the breath he took and let out was shown as a mist. "Still remembered that marigolds are your favourite, even though it's sickeningly sweet." He commented without malice, taking one of the pansies. It wasn't as sugary as the marigold, balancing perfectly between the sourness and sweetness.

MinuteTech had found IvoryCello downtown, in the dark corners of the suburb they call Gristle. There was a multitude of people congregating there, chattering and complaining. Some had tears leaking out of their eyes, perhaps cradling a lost loved one. Others had a murderous look about them, hands clutching at empty air, envisioning a dagger in them. Yet Ivory stood out. She was one among many, not the smallest, yet not the largest. She was unique. She looked like any other young girl, unkempt hair tied back in a ponytail. She caught his eye. She still did now, even with her ordinary clothes in an ordinary crowd, with her shadowy face in a shadowy forest, the black t-shirt on the dark bench.
He held her hand gently, trying to provide some measure of comfort.
He needed comfort now, his hand shaking and burning, yet completely fine. One second was all it took for Minute to be hurt. One second from Ivory. Nobody else held that power. -

He loses his mind, the first two days - there's nothing for him to do, no one for him to help, and he's all but useless.
