Ray can’t think. Or he can, but the train’s gone off-rail and in loops. His lungs scream, and he remembers he has to exhale eventually– a plume of smoke rising between them.

He gets a smile, a real smile, not the one in the club; that’s pretty and polite but restrained (his customer service face, Ray realizes). This one’s big and wide, with a sharp little snaggletooth on one side.

He also discovers he likes being touched by the unconventional and mysterious tattoo artist very much. Alas, things are a bit complicated on both sides…
“I really wanted to apologise for the confusion,” Sirius muttered. He couldn't stop staring at the man and the way his eyes half-closed every time he took another bite of the pastry, only to open again to reveal the two coloured eyes, the dark and the amber. One seemed to reflect hunger. The other sparkled with mischief.
Sirius tried to regain his ability to carry on a civilised conversation: “And I, uh…” Great, now he was stuttering. “I also wanted to know more about what you do?”
"Is that so?" The man looked at him with a questioning look, waiting for him to continue.
Truly, Sirius didn't really want to pursue it. But the man's glaze was open and friendly, and he was waiting patiently for him to explain further, so he sighed and added, “I do have one tattoo I'd rather not have anymore, but I can't remove it.” He looked down at the floor before adding in a whisper, "I hate it." -

Okay, so this is my first ever fic.
I’ve never written anything in English before (not that I wrote much in my mother tongue either, except my trauma-processing blog). Yesterday, I saw Mingi in this outfit, and he gave off such a dad vibe—like going to a parents’ evening at his daughter’s school—that I just had to write this. So, enjoy it, or take it apart, I’m happy to take constructive criticism!
