Still blindly following Clave orders, Alec infuriates Magnus and gets kicked out of the loft. Magnus nurses his emotional wounds and Dot shows up. Lots of vodka, emotional upheaval, and recently compromised state with Azazael lead the doorway open for an unwelcome visit from one of Magnus's many uncles, A Prince of Hell, Greater Demon Sammael -- with a personal agenda against Magnus and everything he holds dear. Alec unwittingly gets caught in the middle. This doesn't bode well for either of them in the (tumultous) aftermath.

Summary
Generally speaking, Magnus was never the jealous type in a relationship. Not because he was too vain to assume that he was too perfect to cheat on (although he was objectively gorgeous, he saw himself in the mirror). No, he just preferred to trust his partners. At times, of course, it proved to be the wrong choice but Magnus never let individual situations waver him. What’s even the point of long-term dating if you throw a tantrum every time your partner so much as breathes in the direction of another person? As much of a platitude as it was but any relationship should be built on mutual trust.
However, now Magnus didn’t have an ounce of trust. Not in Alec. But in himself.

Alec gets mistreated by his siblings because they never seem to think about how their actions would affect their big brother. And as they go on another mission Magnus joins them. After he realised he hurt his boyfriend he tries to apologies in a way that makes it clear that he is in fact truly sorry. -

Alexander flips him off, like Magnus expected him to. In fact, the reaction is as expected as the sun rising every morning; Alexander is nothing but predictable. If it isn't the flipping off, it's an eye roll or a glare. Magnus loves riling this coworker up, more so than any of his others.
