TIME LOOP — Akira has been living in a time loop that’s caused him to grow a palace that’s threatening to take over reality. The gang all try to figure out what’s up. (Based on P5R-canon, but with pretty MAJOR AU elements, like Akechi being alive, Maruki never being God, Sumire having a place, etc. a lot of things remain a mystery until it becomes relevant. So take that as you will!)
THOUGHTS — I think that it was a great read! I ended up skipping most of the fight scenes 😂 Not really my kind of thing. And I do think that the author was a little overdescriptive at times? But that’s not really a bad thing. More of a personal preference thing. Cause my attention span tends to go @.@ when I read fics like this. The format helped exacerbate that I think. The dialogue tags and paragraph separations were... weird.
But anyway! OUTSIDE OF ALL THOSE. I actually really liked this. It’s pretty damn unique. Especially for a “Akira has a Palace” fic. I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of resolution at the end T.T While there is a hopeful/happy ending... because of where the author stopped... it’s almost like you know. You get to the climax of the story. And then, it’s all good. It’s tense. It’s a culmination of everything that happened so far. Things are great!! And then, it ends. Just like that. With only like a chapter’s worth of resolution. Or maybe more like several paragraphs worth 😅. That’s the only thing that kept me from marking this a fav tbh. I think this could do well with a bit more resolution. Even if it’s just a next-day sequel where they talk. They hash out everything that happened and figure out what comes next. Because?? That ending?? No clue. It took the wind right out of my sails ;;
But anyways! Despite that!! I did still endjoy this fic a lot. And I was more than happy to read it (and will be more than happy to read it again.) I don’t think I’ll read the sequel till it’s finished (or at all). Seeing as I know that ends unhappily. And that’s not my jam. But I’ll come back to this in the future!!
