Summary
For the past five years, Virgil has been stuck in an orphanage with only bad memories and music to keep him company. There had been hope, at first, that if he smiled and behaved he’d find a loving family to call his own. But in the end that hope died, crushed under the truth his father had so often repeated- something in Virgil, hidden deep beneath the polite exterior, was rotten.
Simply put, Virgil was a bad omen. No matter who fostered him, their lives crumbled in Virgil’s presence. It started with small things- a leaking sink here, a cracked window there-, but it inevitably escalated until a broken marriage or a burning roof led them to return Virgil. After the eighth or ninth time, he stopped forcing a cheery attitude and accepted that he wasn’t worth the effort. Any effort. It would be best if everyone left him alone to melt into his corner and disappear.
But there was someone that wanted him, a couple that was almost as strange as he was. Despite his warnings, they took him in and gave him a warm home. And yet... can they really fix the broken mechanism of Virgil’s heart? And is this magical new world as wondrous as it seems, or are there monsters lurking in the shadows?

(And far too moral to have someone carry his half child anyways..) However, after much consideration from his husband Janus, (After Patton begging for several months). The two decide to foster a child for Christmas, however the little toddler that they wanted to foster was Adopted before they can bring them home. Even though Patton is happy for the little one, he's still sad that he can't have a little one running around for Christmas. Janus wants nothing more than to make his Love happy so he looks for another child, coming across a teenage boy who's been bounced around so many times he's numb to it. They soon learn that maybe it wasn't just them who needed a family. But Virgil as well.

Because Janus and Virgil both meant so much to Patton in different ways, it hurt him to see them at odds with each other. Both sides had begrudgingly agreed, which lead them to where they are now.

Logan stares expectantly, “What is it?”
“You're straightforward.” Patton says, laughing nervously as he pushes his round glasses up.
“I've been told so.” Logan says.
Patton nods, “Right.” He mumbles, then clears his throat and looks up at Logan. “So… I was wonderin’...”
Logan leans over the counter, “Yes?”

Summary
Four boys who have spent their entire lives scared of themselves, and the powers they hold, all somehow end up in the same apartment. Once they realize that they all have one thing in common, their super powers, they grow closer than they had ever been with anyone. So relieved to finally be able to be themselves without fear, the boys are happy and relaxed, all except one. Virgil. He has a dark past that prevents him from being happy, and from wanting to live. Will Roman, Patton, and Logan be able to help Virgil find value in life? Or is he too far gone to save?
I wrote this when I was 11 and then completely forgot about it for 4 years, and now I'm posting it here because I can. It is terrible, and bad, and not good, but I was 11 so I think I get a pass. Enjoy!
