    Summary

Watchers were supposed to be worshipped. It’s their source of powers as minor deities, after all.

Grian, who wanted nothing more than to forget his Watcher past, was quite happy not to be worshipped at all. So when the Hermits collectively started praying to Xelqua and Grian started to gain a lot of Watcher magic, it put a real damper on his mood, health, self-perception and his relationships. With Mumbo gone off-world, it was now up to Scar, Pearl and Xisuma to worry about him – if Grian would let them. But Grian was nothing if not stubborn. He’d get through this alone, right?

    ..Right?

    Summary

"I think,” Grian says, voice high, and then clears his throat, “there might be more to this whole soulmate thing than we thought.” Behind him, Scar makes a strangled sound.

"G, is this really the time—"

"No, listen to me, I think—I think we're not only sharing, uh, pain." There's a long silence. Grian stays turned around, wringing his hands together.

"So you're telling me you felt—" Scar sounds slightly hysterical.

"Yep," Grian says, and laughs as Scar groans.

And—impossibly, Grian feels warmth pool back into his stomach, like warm honey.

"Uh," he laughs, and Scar makes a noise in the back of his throat.

(or: Scar and Grian, as soulmates, share more than just pain.)

    Summary

"It's a soulmate mark," and he pauses after he says that, expecting shock, excitement, disgust, anything than the blank look that their Sire gives. "Was born with it, thankfully, and it's still here! S- so… surprise?"

Scott doesn't say anything. But there's a look in his eyes that they can't quite place, something deeply hidden underneath the indifference, something that Pyro would love to say only he can ever notice.

It's something that Pyro wishes they could see more of before his Sire simply… turns him back around and shoves him into another scratchy, uncomfortable shirt.

    Summary

He'd just started thinking about how to escape when the sound of flapping wings drew his attention. Abolish prepared himself, grabbing for his stake. His heart sank when he realized it had been shattered to smithereens in the fall and wouldn't be effective anymore.

A bluish-grey bat swooped overhead, and Abolish's eyes widened when its entire right side slammed into the silver. A loud shriek pierced his ears as the little thing tumbled down into the pit, bringing with it the faint scent of burning fur.

Abolish hesitated. On one hand... that was a thousand percent Scott. There was not chance in the world this bat wasn't the elder vampire. But... the hunter bit his lip to keep from crying out as he leaned forward and picked it up in one hand.

    Or:

Abolish fell into the Crypt pit trap and due to some infuriatingly placed silver, Scott does too (but in bat form bc that’s cute).

    Summary

“I know when people think I’m crazy. Hell, I was kind of crazy.” Avid admitted.
“To be fair, you were right about vampires being here.” Scott hesitated again. “And I’m not the only one.”
    Avid blinked. “Oh.”
Scott-the-bat studied him with all the intensity a small, fluffy mammal could have. “No shock? Horror? Anger? Accusations?”
Avid looked away. “I mean—if they’re not hurting anyone, then does it matter?”
Scott didn’t respond for a long moment. Then, finally, he said, “You’re an interesting one.”
It was hardly a compliment, but Avid felt flustered anyway. “Oh. Yeah.”
