    Stephanie is not the same teenager she once was, running around craving any small validation from the big black Bat, hoping he (or any of them) cared about her even a little bit, desperately chasing these minuscule moments of recognition and twisting them into something bigger. This is not enough.

     

    She looks over at him and his easy grace, his kind face. She would have killed for this, for someone to come help her when she is sick and her life feels like it is falling apart around her, for this stupid knight in bat armour to whisk her away to fantasy land (it’s Connecticut, she needs to calm down) and buy her food and medicine. But not anymore. She’s not that little girl anymore.

     

    Steph is sick and Dick half-succeeds in helping.
