Summary
Nicky had to shut his eyes and focus on taking a deep breath, his thoughts taking him back to the lab. Having to let that alleged scientist cut him in pieces and kill him repeatedly? He could have dealt with that, but having to watch Joe, his heart, go through the same without being able to help or hold him through it, was so much worse. Being forced to be so close and yet so far made him feel weak.
He could do nothing but wait until Joe opened his eyes again, to give what little comfort he could.

The blond turned his head and looked at him with a stare that hit harder than Kirishima expected. His cheeks were already colored from the alcohol, and there was a wild frustration in his eyes, the kind that made his nerves twist.
Bakugo set the bottle down harder than he needed to.

Summary
Because there’s a difference, in the way Eijirou loves. His love is a hand-painted portrait, sketched from paper to skin. He wears it like a tattoo, proud and iridescent in every hue. Katsuki, though, conceals his love like a brand: as if he’d been lashed to the cross and branded with a scar that would never heal. Eijirou treats his heart like an open secret, Katsuki stows his away like a liability.
So the fact that he’s allowed Eijirou into his space, that he’s open armed, inviting Eijirou in—it’s like he’s squeezing his own beating heart tight and letting the blood seep through the cracks. Just for Eijirou to see.
Only for Eijirou to see.
