The living Danny—maybe playing along, or maybe responding genuinely—raised both hands in a show of harmlessness. Like Lancer truly had him at gunpoint.
Danny Fenton’s wet cold dead body was so heavy in Lancer’s single cradling arm.
“Who are you?” Lancer asked very simply.
And Danny, arms still raised high, let out a sigh deep enough to deflate his shoulders. Whatever light was in his eyes went dull, resigned to an acceptance Lancer could not in the moment understand.
“I am your worst student,” Danny answered. And he lowered one arm exclusively to point. “And THAT is the dead body of my ghost clone.”

Alone on the farthest outskirts of Amity Park, Danny Fenton and Edward Lancer bury the dead body of Danny's clone. It is long and tedious work, and Danny can't dodge Lancer's questions forever. Surely it's only fair of Lancer to demand to know what he has been pulled into. Surely Danny could use someone on his side, now that his evenings are spent burying his clones.

Summary
That should be the end of it. His parents are happy, the portal is working, and Danny doesn’t get grounded for messing around where he shouldn’t be. Case closed, happily ever after, the end, everyone can just move on with their life now and Danny can just bury this incident into the confines of his mind with little to no consequences.
Except…
Well, the memory problems are concerning, but at least he isn’t dead.

Mai shrugged. “His dad told him to go find the Avatar.”
Sokka blinked. “Okay? Why you two specifically, though? I mean your whole army is-”
“His dad told him to go find the Avatar three years ago.”
Sokka said nothing, but his expression was loud enough. After a long, complicated moment, he shook his head in something like amazement.
“And he found him? I mean, we got there first, but still.”

Wacky hijinks ensue as Videl and Gohan try in increasingly desperate ways to get Buu to leave them alone long enough to fool around a bit.
