Her gaze flicks to him, mismatched eyes catching in the moonlight. For a heartbeat, she looks older than the strange, restless girl she appears to be. “Than letting people see the soft parts. The parts that hurt. The vulnerable, gooey ones. If you’re frightening, people don’t touch you. Don’t want to know you. They don’t get close enough to break you.”

Summary
Yet as the hell that thing called the Watcher puts them in continues on far longer than she wants, her horns start growing. Her anxiety rises quickly everytime she catches her reflection in the water whenever she would be planting so her team could get tea. Everywhere she looks all she sees is the obvious way her horns grow.
It does not take long before she gives into the urge, going off by herself in the night with a sword in hand and it ends with her hands bloodied and the horns on the floor while her head is jagged and harsh from the improper tools to use to get rid of them. It ends with Tina crying into her hands that night, the anguish and anger at not being human.
