Summary
“I’ve been in worse places,” Bucky dryly responds, looking around the opulence of the room. “It feels weird… being almost free.”
Steve looks at him for a second too long, guilt shining through his baby blues. “You are free, Buck.”
Bucky’s jaw clenches, his hand curling tightly around the coffee mug. “Are we?”
Steve wishes he could say yes. He wishes he could promise Bucky that nothing bad would ever happen to them anymore—that they were safe, that they were free. But they’d never be free. Not really, anyway.
Or: Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers know that their love is wrong. So they hide it with stolen glances and fleeting touches. Never enough to make the Avengers suspect. Their facade comes crumbling down when Tony outs them, and Steve is quick to deflect their beliefs. Now, Bucky has to find a way for both him and Steve to disappear before the consequences of their forbidden love catch up to them.

Summary
“Shit,” he muttered under his breath, panic prickling at the back of his neck. He tried to stumble toward the kitchen, tried to get out of the Avengers’ sight so he wouldn’t cause a scene, but the world tilted beneath him too fast.
Before anyone could react, he collapsed, headfirst, landing with a loud thud on the floor. Pain shot up from his nose, and the world went black.
(Or: Five times Tony faints and one time the avengers finally find out why.)

Tony’s always had a complicated relationship with his shifted form. Which, considering the general consensus on shifters is that your shift is the window to your soul, insinuates some uncomfortable things about how Tony views himself, but he chooses not to dwell on that for too long.
It’s just that, well, his animal is not the most loved animal there is. Because Tony is a raven shifter.
Raven, the animal that most people associate with bad luck, ill omens, and death.

Tony seems to panic for a moment, shifting his weight foot to foot, before spitting out in one mouthful, “I have a business trip in Florida right before your spring break and I talked to May and she says I can bring you to Disney for the week once it’s done ahhh.” He then breathes, grins plastically, and holds his hands out, like, I’m Tony Stark, hold your applause.
Peter runs the words through his head no less than three times to make sure he had understood them properly. “Disney—you and me—spring break?” he repeats.
Tony nods, hair flopping. “I mean, like, don’t feel obligated to say yes, but I thought it would be fun since May says you’ve never gone and she would’ve been working for your whole break anyway, y’know, at least this way we won’t be worrying about you sitting home alone for hours doing G-d only knows what—building accidental robot armies or something, or, worse, becoming a couch potato and forgetting every bit of knowledge I’ve ever carefully placed in that rat trap you call a brain—”
“Tony,” Peter says, waving his hands to shut Tony up. Something warm sits in the core of his chest, hovering. “Yeah,” he says. “Yeah, yeah, for sure, let’s—Disney. Let’s go. Wow.”
