“But — I’m Marinette,” Marinette protested.
“And so is she,” said Miss Bustier, nodding towards Lila.
The following “What?” was spoken by at least six people, but of them, Marinette was the loudest. Every head turned to the back again, and Lila met all their questing gazes with a calm, peaceable smile.
“But she’s Lila,” said Marinette, as the only person to speak in the following din. “I’m Marinette.”
“She just changed her name to Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Marinette,” said Bustier. She did hesitate, but she said it nonetheless; it was a joy to hear those words spoken aloud.
But it was time to speak for herself, too. “Yes,” said Lila, keeping her voice bright and airy. “I decided to change my name to honour our class president for all her hard work. She is such a wonderful person, so I wanted to follow in her footsteps in what little way I can.”

Lila changes her name in order to frame Marinette for various crimes. However, she soon inspires a movement she could never have imagined - both inside and outside the classroom.
