The Agreste's had, for the most part, retreated from the public eye. Adrien had done a few photoshoots as a child, some of Gabriel's designs got off the ground, and Emilie was, well- Emilie. When Adrien was 5, Emilie Agreste fell ill, and retired. Her and Gabriel sold their mansion, opened a small boutique, and lived off of Emilie's trust fund. Every couple of years, she would do an interview or two at her father's behest, and if she was honest, she missed the spotlight. And then, when Adrien was 12 years old, Emilie Agreste died. Her funeral was grand, the people mourned her, and then she was forgotten. The boutique lived on, Adrien was pulled from school, and confined to his home. Sad.
The Dupain-Cheng's, on the other hand, were decently well known. They ran the most successful chain of bakeries in all of France, thanks to the renowned Cheng Sifu. They started small, but were quickly sponsored by Sabine's uncle, and grew into a beloved franchise. They weren't Agreste rich, that was for sure, but Marinette always had brand new yards of fabric, and was running a business out of their home by 16.
They had no reason to know each other, and so, they didn't.
Until Monarch made her appearance, that is.

Kagami has to grapple with the reality of her existence as a thing created by Duusu, and with what to think about the outcome of what happened between Marinette and Gabriel. And Zoé has to deal with her lingering feelings towards Marinette, without stepping on anyone's toes - least of all Marinette's.
With a new butterfly holder approaching, the three of them need to figure out the limits of their trust; even more than that, though, they need to learn how to trust themselves. As the akumas get closer and closer to them, they need to navigate not just their relationships with other people, but also their faith in their own abilities - or everything will come crashing down around them.
But Marinette carries another secret, one that only she knows: when Gabriel made the wish, his life wasn't sufficient payment for Nathalie's. And the black wound on her foot is an always-growing reminder that even trust can likely not solve everything...

With these magical jewels, they fought crime and took down an asshole weilding two of the Miraculi outside of the box for personal gain.
Now they just patrol the city, keeping crime on the downlow, and stopping the ocassional evil spirit.
That was until their parents moved to the city of love; Paris!
Now that they know there’s a whole other city under siege, a hero that’s about to break plus the liar behind it, and Miraculi being mishandled will they keep to themselves and stay out of it?
Hell no! If there's one thing Aussies are known for, it's their resilience and lack of ability to give a shit and they're going to do anything they can to help out.
Hawkmoth and his allies should have learned one lesson before using the Miraculous; don't piss off the Aussies.
