The worst part is that Toya isn’t out of reach at all.
He’d spent so long chasing after an object in the sky, from east to west, hopelessly reaching his arm to something that couldn’t peer down and see him. And now, there’s no sun in the sky but Toya’s happy face. His eyes twinkle with his genuine, pearl-white smile, and the clouds move out of the way to offer a new gaze.
This Toya is as beautiful as an unrefined gem. He might be cracked, dusted, or rough at the edges. He’s not perfect, not meticulously made to squeeze into an unattainable beauty standard. And something about that is even more beautiful than the saccharine ideal of the sage-bathed cover model.
After years of struggling as a model and chasing after an ideal, Akito finally makes his big break. And now, Toya, the model he'd admired and idealized, isn't as out of reach as he thought.

Toya has been fine like this. He was never meant to stray from his predetermined fate; yet as he wanders to a street he should have never crossed paths with, singing so synchronically with someone he should have never met and using the warmth of it all to temporarily drown out the agonizing cold of his home, he knows this wasn't the wrong choice. Toya will be fine like this.
That is, until his home gets infested with termites.
It's a struggle to get rid of them—if he even can.

Akito doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’ll be gone in 262 days. Yet here he is, pulling someone else with him in whatever messed up stuff life pretends to throw at him until then. Akito knows he isn’t the best person to be around someone like Toya, for Toya’s own sake, but still.
A bucket list, his thoughts and the outside world. Akito doesn't need anything else.
At least that's what he thought, until Toya slowly started to enter his life.
