“You’ve got a boyfriend.” Jesper says out loud. His voice comes out very scratchy for some strange reason, and he hurries to clear his throat again.
“Please don’t be weird.” Wylan says softly.
“Why would I be weird?” Jesper asks. “I’m just- you’ve got a boyfriend. I’m happy for you.” Wylan snorts.
“Ok then.”[or: jesper gets in trouble and has to call his ex to come pick him up. good thing they've both moved on and there are absolutely no messy feelings left between them.]

The Queen’s Plague hits Ketterdam once more, and Kaz is…. fine. He definitely isn't paranoid to the point he takes Inej to quarantine in the Van Eck mansion... and Jesper getting sick definitely isn't causing any sort of discomfort. It doesn't remind him of Jordie at all. Not even a little. Not at all.
Jesper's fever does make him say some strange things, though.

In retrospect, it had been a terrible idea. Going to parties to avoid thinking about someone doesn't work so well when the someone is Jesper Fahey, Professional Partygoer, Gatecrasher, and Havoc-Wreaker.
And here he was: Jesper, glowing and already messy, glitter smeared across one cheek, half of his shirt buttons undone. He was such a disaster and just looking at him made Wylan’s stomach swoop, and Wylan hated it.

So Jesper had explained the whole story, of how every time he thinks of marriage he accidentally uses his powers to make a ring, and how Wylan doesn’t know any of this, and how until one of them proposed to the other, Jesper was simply doomed to accidentally make every metal object in his range an engagement ring because he wanted to marry Wylan so badly it was a little insane.
“I think this is an extremely easily avoidable problem, Jesper,” Nina tells him, rolling her eyes and Matthias nods in agreement. Jesper was on the floor of the Slat, and he made no attempt to stand up. “Just propose to him.”
