    Summary

Yoojin hummed around a cookie in his mouth. “If he weren't a smith, Myungwoo would make a killing as a chef. Or a househusband. He’s seriously a hidden catch, but all the women of Korea don’t know about the perfect man that cooks, cleans, and makes bank since he never leaves his forge.”

The keywords here were beginning to factor into a series of calculations in Yoohyun’s head. Yoojin had a big laundry list of things he wanted, and the section related to what he wished for Yoohyun was mostly impossible but could be easily fabricated. A life that might include one spouse, one child, and many friends—all with the expectation that he be “happy”. The illusions of that, too, could be constructed.

After this discussion, Yoohyun had come to appreciate a useful fact.

Yoo Myungwoo would be an ideal candidate for marriage.

Or: Han Yoohyun tries his hand at dating and selects Yoo Myungwoo as the baffled object of his attention.

look i don't go here at all but this is a fascinating character study, a slow burn, and a really cool exploration of acespec + potentially arospec feelings in the context of building a romantic relationship. It's also fun and funny and gives that good good "character a doesn't really have morals but cares about character b's preferences, & luckily character b does have morals", and what it can look like to complicate that dynamic. Overall a delight of a slow burn.

Listen, Xue Yang's not in a position to turn down jobs. Nobody's asking him to put on kitten heels for this one, even.

Xue Yang wonders what a pair of cultivators could want with a third. Bait, maybe? It sounds stupid. It sounds risky. It sounds a little bit like he’s going to be cut into pieces and strewn into all the trash cans across the city.

The door slams behind him on his way out, because he’ll need to pick up a pre-paid phone so he can call the stupid wanted ad number.

this is v funny, implicit background pain, a fun lil mystery, and some really effective grumpy alley cat adoption (figurative). I don't think you need canon for this to be a good time, but/and fun with the modern interpretation if you do

It’s not that Yuri thinks Victor is a big fat liar. It just, well, Yuri thinks Victor is a big fucking liar.

“The Sun,” Yuri repeats for the fifth time that day. “You’re engaged to the Sun.

"You'll change your mind one day," says the innkeep. "The road can't love you back."

What a strange way to flatten something so beautiful, Jaskier thinks. What a small way to love.

Or: When Jaskier is hit with a curse that prevents him from having sex, he's lucky that the first person he meets is a Witcher. It's even luckier that Jaskier is used to hitting the road, because Geralt isn't waiting up.

this fic is beautiful. the prose is lovely, the characterization is fantastic, etc. but the part I'm never gonna get over is how this writer captured what it feels like to be a poet. like, they really fucking caught it.
