Summary
Robby's head flew up immediately, as he was one hundred percent sure that someone just called his name. And that someone was too familiar to be mistaken for anyone else. But when he had made it to the locker hall that instantly filled his mind with unwanted memories, he was met with silence.
There was a light breeze of wind coming through the entrance door that was slightly ajar. He could have sworn that there was a glimpse of silhouette sliding out of here just a second ago, into the Pittsburgh's night.
Somwhere deep inside he knew it wasn't true because Frank Langdon was currently stuck at rehab centre in another city and most definitely not sharing the shift with him.
Or: 5 times Frank Langdon's absence haunted his coworkers and 1 time it didn't.Bookmarked by thewhitecollarimp

When Robby showed up on his doorstep with some pretty good beer in tow, well, Jack didn't have the blood sugar reserves needed to stop him from making rash decisions.

The first thing he sees is the darkened lock screen with the little “Do Not Disturb” icon at the bottom.
The second thing he sees is the name on the middle of the screen: Jake ❤️ 🏀.

Summary
“I feel like a clown,” Robby grumbles, surprised the gown isn’t tight in the shoulders like he thought it would be, “or maybe like the Michelin Man.”
Jack steps back, hands dragging down Robby’s arms, fingers slipping between the pleats of fabric until they tangle with Robby’s own, fingers hooked together, Jack keeping their arms raised so he can take all of Robby in, “Lookin good to me.”
Robby finally meets Jack’s eyes. They’re half-lidded, hungry, the way he looks before kissing the breath out of Robby, “You cannot be serious right now.”
“As a heart attack,” Jack steps back, pulling Robby down with him on the couch, “how can I convince you that you’re unfairly attractive in this?”
(Or: Robby has to wear his graduation regalia; Jack isn't normal about it)

Summary
“I distinctly recall extending an invite that you turned down.”
“I’m your attending.” Robby says in lieu of anything else.
The invite for drinks was for more than just drinks, then. Robby had suspected that, but he didn’t have any evidence to confirm it. Abbot looks about as straight as they come, military background and all, gruff and corn-fed. His lingering eyes defied that in ways Robby could never put a finger on, in ways he wouldn’t let himself.
Abbot shrugs, watching Robby closely, “I’m a consenting adult.”
Robby pulls in a deep breath, reading between the lines of those words isn’t hard, “I don’t have drinks with my residents.”
