Rei was young then too, when first Touya, and then Fuyumi was ripped from her arms the moment they showed the slightest signs of a quirk. But as much as she can remember those days, she also remembers in perfect clarity the day that each child was born, the short-lived joy. Shouto is seven now, and she tries to remember the last time she's heard him raise his voice above a murmur, besides these pain-filled mornings. Even when he’s with her, he’s mostly silent these days, as if he’s afraid that the spell of safety will break if he speaks.
OR: Todoroki Rei doesn't burn her son, and everything changes from there.

His hair falls in his face while he eats, softening his harsh features, and Rei smiles. He makes her nervous. When he got taller, when his voice started to deepen, fear and guilt slowly poisoned the close relationship they had when he was young. But he is still her oldest, her first son, the first of her children that she got to hold.
He's her baby. Small and sensitive, but angry and rebellious in all the ways that Fuyumi can't be. The pillar of strength for his siblings when Rei isn't there to help them. They'll miss him.Touya grins at her from the screen as the scene switches to a metropolitan area. He wears a simple black jumpsuit, with a long, dark blue coat overtop. The burns she knows decorate his face are hidden under a mask, and his hair is dyed black, but his eyes and voice are the same as the night he left. There are some small patches of smoke in the background, but they are quickly being dealt with by firefighters on the scene.
“Todoroki Enji,” Touya says, and he pours every ounce of hatred that he has into those words. “You are under arrest, for charges of child abuse, neglect, and spousal battery. Come quietly, and no one has to get hurt.”
For a trio of eighteen-year-old high school dropouts, Touya, Takami, and Shimura have a pretty nice apartment.
Rei doesn’t burn Shoto, Touya and Fuyimi are twins, he escapes when he is around 16-17 and becomes a hero. Enji got put under arrest. Some continuation for maybe later.
