Chapter Text

He screams at the crowd, a gun in his hand, pointing wildly around the room, at specific people who just so happened to have looked him in the eyes, and behind him, where Peter lay on the ground, unmoving.

Tony might as well have a heart attack, that would have probably stressed him less.

The guy kept on screaming, an introduction, like he was just one of the interns presenting his invention. It seemed the guy hadn't noticed Ironman lying above him, calculating his next best move to ensure as little people as possible would get hurt, none would be ideal, really.

How the intern had gotten on teh stage without Friday spotting them anywhere in the building beforehand was still a mystery to Tony, a security issue he had to resolve later, now he had to make sure if Peter was still alive and how he could keep it that way.

"Friday, tell me what you see."

"The gun is no ordinary one, it is modified to not shoot just metal bullets but is used rather as a dart gun. I can not discern what chemicals might be in them." She explained. So, the gun would be priority number one, still. "His emotional status is unstable, there is no way of predicting what his next move might be."

"Tell me something I can't see myself."

"Mr. Parker appears to be breathing, but with increasing difficulty. According to his medical records he has asthma. If this is not treated, he might fall unconscious or possibly suffer long term effects."

"Okay, get rid of the gun, get the kid some air, doesn't sound too complicated." Tony readied his repulser, aiming for the intern's gun. If only he wouldn't point it around so much, Tony could get a good shot in without possible endangering any more people.

"You see this boy behind me?" The intern yelled, pointing the gun behind him, at Peter. Tony caught the kid barely moving his head. Still conscious. "He looks just like a normal kid, like you and me, doesn't he? Well, what if I were to tell you that he wasn't? I have spend months studying his every action, watched and learned what he was capable of, and quickly I came to one conclusion. This boy is nothing but an abominatio."

Tony did not where this was going. The room was still fileld with people, even cameras pointed at the stage. He had to act quickly or this might end very bad for the kid.

"Friday, a little assistance here, please." If only this guy would stop moving for more than half a second.

The intern walked backwards until he stood next to Peter.

"I have taken samples of his blood, his DNA was nothing I have ever seen before; It was just not entirely human." Finally he stood still. Not so lucky he was now pointing the gun right at Peter, who still lay there, not moving, barely breathing.

Now or never. Tony took the shot.

The gun flew out of the interns hand, landing not far enough away from them. The guy looked up, taking Ironman's presence in for the first time.

"Mr. Stark, perfect timing." He yelled over. "I was just getting started, you will be very interested in what I have discovered, sir." The smug smile and hopeful, yet crazy look in his eyes made Tony sick.

Flying closer, Tony now hovered a foot over the stage. He had hoped the suit would intimidate the intern enough to step back a bit, however, he only got closer to Peter, grabbing the boy by the arm and heaving him up like some fish he had caught, wanting to present it.

Peter had never looked worse. How was it that when Tony thougth he had seen Peter like he had walked through hell, that there would always be a next time proving it could always get worse.

I wanted to finish this story (not the last chapter, there will be more) not tonight, but my body accidentally initiated nap mode instead of sleep mode so now it's 3am and I am wide awake
