“Tony fucking Stark,” Clint says, and he points at the black smoke. “Did you blow up that base, you piece of shit?”
“Absolutely not. I almost got blown up with it.”
Clint is not alone. A few yards behind him, a scrawny figure halts and squints at Tony from underneath a frayed baseball cap. Sunken eyes. Dressed in a black undershirt and cargo pants.
Can’t be older than eighteen.
“What are you doing here?”
Clint jerks his head at the boy behind him. “SHIELD mission. Extracting a hostage.”
Tony glances back at the teenager, whose face has now morphed into something entirely impassive. “He seems thrilled about his rescue.”

Peter had never been close to his grandfather. Richard was a cold, strict man, a retired army General. Richard Sr. harbours bitterness towards Peter and thinks of him as a curse. Peter still had one thing he held onto—his life as Spider-Man. Being Spider-Man is his escape, his way of making up for the guilt he felt over May's death and Uncle Ben’s before her.
Tony Stark, who has become his mentor and father figure, suspects something is wrong but doesn’t push Peter, who maintains a facade of normalcy while secretly suffering.
The tension between the Avengers deepens as the rogue members return and Peter doesn't want to add to Mr Stark's troubles.
