About two months later, Peach had become a better leader. She had brought all the Toads together and told them everything that happened with her. She also told them about Mario too. The Toads were all supportive of the news, even Toadsworth. Luigi and Violet were helping with whatever or whenever they could. Mario and Peach had stopped dating and just enjoyed each other's company. They still had an often movie night, provided Bowser didn't interfere with that.
Mario looked to Luigi, Peach, and Violet, who had stopped by his place. He was about to say something when his Mailbox SP went off.
Peach was confused, "What is that sound?"
Luigi stated, "Sounds like Mario has got an email."
Violet questioned, "Who is it from?"
Mario opened it and read aloud, "Dear Mario, what's up? Goombella here! I'm still here with Vivi working with Professor Frankly. We just had our first date the other night and it was awesome! Anyways, we beat the Shadow Queen, but there's tons of Rogueport lore we still don't get... So, our research with the professor goes on and on. With the info we gathered with you all, we have lots of great leads now, though! Like I've always said, every myth contains a kennel of truth.
"Speaking of which, know what was in the chest that the professor recovered? You're totally not gonna believe me when I tell you. It's... a secret! Hahaha! But I'll tell you next time I see you. As part of our research, we did go back to many of the places we visited... And we seen everyone that we traveled with, too! Koops is living peacefully in Petalburg with his dad and Koopie Koo.
"They are finally going steady! Guess what Koops wants to do now! He wants to become mayor of Petalburg and live there in peace! Can you imagine? Still, it might just be perfect for him, come to think of it. He's so much more of an adult now then you all left Rogueport! Flurrie is back on stage in a big way, and the crowds are totally ecstatic. And, the play she's doing right now is the story of our adventure! Yeah!
"It's called 'Paper Mario'! Vivi and I saw it twice! It was totally the best play ever! And somehow, Doopliss has joined the troupe as an actor! Who saw that coming? His transformation skills are serving him well, but it still kind of creeps me out... Vivian agreed with me on this too. Oh, and little Blaze? Yeah, he's fighting solo in the Glitz Pit! He says he is getting close to a title match, even! Isn't that just adorable? Oh yeah, he's calling himself 'The Red Comet Jr.' in the ring, by the way.
"It's sorta silly, but kinda cute too, don'tcha think? Oh, and... Wait I have to get this exactly right or he'll get like, so mad at me... He uh said that he could, 'totally take you in the ring now, so bring it!' Vivi and I guess he doesn't change... Isn't that too cute? But when Vivian and I aren't doing some work for the professor, she lives in Twilight Town part time. We're thinking of making our own place once we're ready for that step.
"Bobbery goes out to sea every day now with Cortez... I think his soul has healed. We ran into him on Keelhaul Key by accident the other day, which was nice. He was so happy, both of us thought he was going to blow up on us for a second there. You know... I think Scarlette is looking down on him and smiling right now. Oh, and I almost forgot... Everyone on Keelhaul Key is haul, and they say hello.
"Oh, yeah... In our travels, we heard that Lord Crump and Grodus were still alive. I guess that makes them pretty tenacious baddies, doesn't it? But they've mellowed out a lot, and I don't expect any more trouble... Plus, we heard Grodus is just a head, which really cuts down on the mischief-making. But no one has heard from Beldam or Marilyn. But since the Shadow Queen is gone, we don't think they no longer a threat. Which Vivi and I are grateful for.
"Speaking of miracle survivals... Guess whose favorite calculator is still computing? He says he really wants to see you and Peach again! Well, I'm totally rambling at this point, so I guess I'd better wrap this up... I just want to say, even though things got tough, I'm grateful for our time together. Til we meet again! Goombella and Vivian!"
Peach smiled, "Sounds like everyone has had a happy ending."
Luigi responded, "No kidding on that one."
Violet stated, "I'm so glad everyone is doing good."
Violet takes Luigi's hands into her hands. Luigi looks at her and she kissed him, holding him close. Luigi returned it, holding her close too. They broke their kiss, still holding each other close.
Luigi whispered, "I love you, Vi."
Violet stated, "I love you too, Weegie. But no more adventures for a bit."
Peach replied, "Definitely! And no more treasure maps."
Mario nodded, "Yeah cause we already found our treasure if you think about it. Our own small family, our friends, our relationships... We all grew on that adventure." He turned to Peach, "Especially us."
Peach responded, "You are right about that. And for that, I am thankful."
Mario stated, "Me too." He turned to Luigi and told him, "Thanks."
Luigi was confused, "For what?"
Mario clarified, "For being there for me, of course."
Luigi replied, "Nothing will hurt us as long as we are together."
Mario half teased, "Did you get that from a movie?"
Luigi just blushed out of embarrassment. The brothers started to laugh as did the girls. It felt good to relax and laugh again.
