"Hey! Get away from them, you...!" I yelled.
The demon turned its attention to me briefly, but went back to staring at Dess and Ralsei.
It started to move towards them.
"Guess we'll do this the hard way!" I exclaimed, jumping in front of its path.
The demon only laughed.
"I... I'm not scared of you!" I said. "I won't let you hurt my friends!"
Something made itself known behind the demon.
A pointed tail.
"You think a tail's gonna scare me!?" I said. "I've got a weapon!"
I tried to summon Kris's sword...
But nothing happened.
The demon moved closer.
"Super! We need to run!" Ralsei exclaimed. "I can keep it occupied!"
"I'm not leaving you behind, Ralsei!" I responded. "We're getting out of this together!"
I can't summon Kris's sword! What am I gonna do now!?
This can't be the end... I won't let it be!
Suddenly...
The gloves I was wearing seemed to change into... gauntlets? They've got spikes on them, too...
Not important right now! Gotta stop this... thing!
The pointed tail lunged towards Dess. Before it could, I managed to punch it back towards the demon.
I looked back at Dess. She seemed absolutely paralyzed in fear.
"Ralsei, will you help me fight this thing?" I asked. "Dess is in no condition to face it."
Ralsei seemed equally fearful.
"Guess it's up to me then." I said. "Bring it on, creep!"
I readied my fists, then ran towards the demon.
Before I could make contact with it, the pointed tail swiped me away.
Even though it hurt like hell, I got back up.
The demon crawled closer.
"I'm not done yet...!" I exclaimed.
The demon laughed, and pointed its tail in my direction.
"You... you think this scares me...?" I asked. "I'm not letting you... get any closer..."
The tail began to lunge at me, until suddenly...
It burst into flames.
"...Ralsei?" I asked. "Was that you...?"
"...yes." Ralsei answered. "I'm... sorry I didn't do that sooner."
"It's fine." I responded, then walked up to Ralsei and Dess. "Are you guys okay?"
Both of them nodded.
"Alright, good." I said. "We should... get moving now."
As we began to walk back to the central room, I suddenly fell to the floor.
I stood up relatively quickly, though. Did I sprain an ankle?
"Super! A-are you okay...!?" Ralsei exclaimed. "L-let me heal you!"
Before I could respond, Ralsei suddenly enveloped me in a hug. I felt healed instantly.
...god, I could stay like this forever HE'S SO FLUFFY!!!!!
"Uhh, Super...?" Dess asked. "Why are you just... standing there with your eyes closed?"
When I opened my eyes, Ralsei had already walked ahead.
"Wha- I'm fine!" I exclaimed.
"I... didn't say you weren't...?" Dess responded. "...are you blushing?"
"No!" I answered. "Let's... let's get going!!"
"...you've totally got a crush on him." Dess murmured.
"What was that?" I asked.
"Nothing, nothing." Dess responded.
We walked through the door on the right side of the central room.
